The Goosmann Law Firm seeks a Litigation Trial Attorney to join its high-growth firm and provide high-quality, timely legal representation and advice. The Litigation Trial Attorney will represent clients in court and in other adversarial proceedings, including arbitrations, mediations, and administrative hearings. The ideal candidate is well-versed in court pleadings and litigation processes and has experience working with both business owners and individuals. This role involves handling commercial and complex civil litigation, serving as a persuasive advocate, and confidently presenting cases before judges and juries.

- Work collaboratively as part of a dynamic legal team.
- Represent clients and businesses in civil litigation and other legal proceedings.
- Partner with clients and their advisors to develop strategic plans tailored to specific goals.
- Draft and file briefs, motions, and other judicial pleadings.
- Conduct witness interviews and depositions, defend depositions, draft discovery requests and responses, and manage all phases of the discovery process.
- Lead mediation sessions and provide sound, strategic legal advice.
- Manage multiple clients and cases simultaneously, meeting various deadlines.
- Participate in business development efforts, including involvement in professional organizations and authoring legal content.
- Supervise and mentor paralegals, staff, and team members as your role evolves.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to clearly and effectively convey complex legal matters in both oral and written formats.
- Experience deposing and defending both fact and expert witnesses with jury trial experience.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a client-focused approach.
- Highly organized with excellent attention to detail.
- Proven ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
- Advanced research, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Capable of prioritizing and delegating tasks as needed.
- Able to perform well in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research tools.
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
- Successful completion of the bar exam.
- Active member in good standing of the Bar, or currently eligible for licensure, in the state of Nebraska; Iowa licensure is strongly preferred.
- 3–5 years of relevant litigation experience, including drafting pleadings, handling complex discovery, engaging in motion practice, and preparing for and participating in trial.
- Demonstrated strong work ethic, attention to detail, and ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.
- Experience in at least one of the following areas: medical malpractice, employment law, general commercial litigation, or civil litigation.
