Production Lead

Shift: 2nd Shift

Schedule: 4:00PM-2:30 AM (overtime/weekends and holidays as required)

  • May vary, depending on business needs.

Compensation Details

Pay Rate: $22.75/hr.

Additional Compensation Benefits

  • Shift Differential: $0.50/hr while working on 2nd shift.

Position Summary

The Production Lead supports the daily operations of the production department under the guidance of the Production Supervisor. This role is instrumental in ensuring efficient workflow, maintaining high standards of quality, and fostering a collaborative team environment. The Production Lead is responsible for assisting with work order, monitoring team attendance, and driving production efficiency while ensuring compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Minimum two years of food manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Minimum two years of data experience within a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Minimum two years of experience with GMP & HACCP preferred.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.

  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Working knowledge of computers, systems and databases.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure "Safety First" is always practiced, while observing and adhering to all job safety rules.
  • Assist Supervisor to ensure that production area is always "audit ready".
  • Assist Supervisor to enforce All Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Assist Supervisor in training and coaching employees on proper procedures, quality standards, and ERP usage.
  • Assist Supervisor to ensure real-time recording of transactions, both digital and paper-based, rework logs, inventory logs for production and traceability purposes.
  • Assist Supervisor with production bins and reconcile inventory through the ERP at the end of each work order.
  • Assist Supervisor in monitoring work order completion to ensure labor hours, material and production are accurate and current.
  • Assist Supervisor in distribution of work orders to Machine Operators.
  • Assist Supervisor in reviewing daily production schedule.
  • Assist Supervisor to account for personnel and line balancing when applicable.
  • Assist Supervisor in shift transition and attend pre-shift or end-of-day huddles as required.
  • Ability to receive written and verbal directions.
  • Ability to understand general work processes.
  • Foster a team environment that promotes continuous improvement, communication, and accountability.
  • Performs other similar or related duties as requested or assigned.

Physical Responsibilities

  • Prolonged standing, walking, and working in various environmental conditions.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to talk and hear.
  • The team member is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, and use their hands and fingers to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Normal vision, hearing sensitivity and manual dexterity is necessary.
