About The Role

As the People Business Partner at The RealReal, you will collaborate with the People Team in providing HR support to business leaders and employees. Your role works with the business, responding to employee inquiries and issues in a customer friendly, supportive, and responsive manner - partnering with leadership on talent management, performance management, employee relations, and development. Often you will be asked to ensure compliance with state and federal laws providing the business with updates and changes as necessary. What You Get To Do Everyday

  • Understand TRR Performance Standards, Policies, and Behaviors helping key stakeholders adhere to expectations
  • Partner with business leadership and talent acquisition to develop and implement cost effective strategies for all levels of jobs in the business units that you support
  • Partner with People Operations Coordinator on the on-boarding process, work to ensure 100% execution of new hire documents, promotion letters, background checks, and all other onboarding forms
  • Provide Reporting on People Metrics as needed
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal laws regarding EEOC, benefits and other employee relations legislation
  • Manage employee relations issues, including initiating investigations and providing education around process and policy
  • Provide guidance on policies related to the disciplinary process and behavioral standards
  • Attend People Operations and Business unit meetings, cascading information and providing counsel as necessary
  • Assist in employee separations, conduct exit interviews, and collaborate on initiatives to improve retention and employee relations
  • Make suggestions on employee incentive programs that encourage employee performance and increase retention rates
  • Partner with compensation team to determine competitive wage rates and remain apprised of current trends
  • Work with leadership team to conduct workforce planning, succession planning, and partner with recruiting and finance on staffing / hiring projections
  • Help refine engagement strategies focusing on process improvement to enhance employee morale and workplace conditions
  • Special projects and assignments are a regular part of this role and you’ll influence many areas of the business through your efforts

What You Bring To Role

Minimum:

  • 5+ years of progressive, well-rounded HR experience required in a dynamic technology or e-commerce business
  • Expert at building relationships and understanding nuanced employee feedback
  • Ability to manage difficult customer/employee situations; responding promptly to employee needs, soliciting feedback, responding to requests, and meeting commitments
  • Sound interviewing skills, analyzes and forecasts staffing needs and makes quality hiring decisions
  • Strong communication and influencing skills at all levels
  • Change management and conflict resolution experience
  • Well organized with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment
  • Leadership skills, inspires and motivates others to perform well, influencing action, and giving appropriate recognition to others while fostering a collaborative and diverse community
  • Passionate about building exceptional employee experiences
  • Strategic thinker who understands their organization's strengths & weaknesses, analyzes the market, identifies opportunities, and adapts strategy to achieve company goals
  • Business Acumen, understanding of business implications of decisions, profitability-oriented, knowledge of market and competition, and aligns work with strategic goals

Preferred:

  • Workday experience preferred
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English is preferred
  • Knowledgeable of Google Suite or Microsoft Suite
  • Experience in a warehouse facility in an HR generalist capacity - eCommerce preferred

The expected salary range for this role is $95,000-$110,000. To determine starting pay we carefully consider a variety of factors, including primary work location and an evaluation of a candidate’s skills, experience, market demands, and internal parity. Additionally, salary is just one component of TRR’s total rewards package. Depending on role, employees may also be eligible for a bonus program, incentive pay and benefits.
