Job Description
Park Tudor is currently seeking a Payroll and Human Resources Coordinator. This position is responsible for accurately processing the School’s payroll for over 200 regular, seasonal, and part-time employees. This position will also support many human resource functions. This role ensures that employees are paid accurately and on time, maintains employee records, and ensures compliance with employment laws and school policies. This is a full-time, twelve-month position reporting to the Human Resources Director.
Essential Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate employee records in payroll files, employee files, and databases
- Process and administer semi-monthly payroll for all staff, including faculty, administrative staff, and support staff
- Ensure payroll calculations are accurate, including wages, overtime, deductions, taxes, and benefits
- Stay current on federal, state, and local payroll laws to ensure compliance
- Process, prepare, and transmit contributions for retirement savings plans, health savings accounts, and flexible spending accounts
- Prepare W2’s and 1095’s on an annual basis
- Liaise between Human Resources and Business Office as it relates to payroll
- Perform a wide range of duties relative to the maintenance and processing of personnel records and reports
- Respond to all payroll inquiries
- Manage the benefit system database, including open enrollment, plan changes, and employee questions
- Manage employee time-off requests and leave administration, ensuring accurate recordkeeping and communication with supervisors
- Ensure monthly invoices related to HR and payroll expenses are remitted timely
- Coordinate annual flu shots and spring wellness checks for employees
- Manage the background check and drug screen processes
- Manage and coordinate the Approved Driver List and the Approved Substitute List
- Serve as contact for external sources as it relates to completion of employment verifications and reference checks
- Coordinate and provide support for employee recognition and holiday gifts
- Assist the HR Director with managing and coordinating the hiring process, workman’s compensation, leaves of absence, external and internal compliance, etc.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualification Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.
- Experience: 3-5 years payroll experience required. Experience with Paylocity preferred.
