Job Opening: FPGA Developer (m/f/d)

Meinberg USA is growing quickly and supports a wide variety of customers in several market segments including power grid, defense, broadcast/media, finance, datacenter, and telecom. Meinberg synchronization products are used extensively in broadcast and media industries, from content production to streaming networks, including at the world’s greatest sports events – the SuperBowl and the Olympics.

Hardware design is a new department of Meinberg USA and will work on a broadcast infrastructure project with the engineering team at headquarters in Germany and cooperate with the Vienna engineering team. FPGA development is central to our IP and creating a pioneering product line. <

Job responsibilities:

  • Development and integration of RTL into FPGA and SoC based clock, IP, SMPTE ST 2110 and SDI systems
  • Work with other members of the team to verify the functionality of FPGA & HW designs
  • Assist in supporting other staff members as necessary through entire NPI process flow – including design, documentation, test, manufacturing and customer support
As an investment in success, Meinberg will provide training in network time synchronization technology and Meinberg products. Technical training will include GPS, NTP (network time protocol), and PTP (IEEE-1588 precision time protocol), our complete product line, both hardware and software, and broadcast standards (ST-2110, SMPTE ST 2059-2).

What Meinberg expects from you:

  • 2+ years experience with FPGA designs in VHDL or Verilog (VHDL preferred)
  • FPGA & HW development experience with focus or expertise in Video/Audio and SDI technologies preferred.
  • Knowledge of broadcast studio applications & workflow preferred, especially Live Events Production systems a plus.
  • An understanding of Static Timing Analysis and Timing Closure techniques
  • Experience with version control using tools such as Git
  • Strong communication skills, problem solver and good team player
  • Creative, dependable and hard working
  • Desire to contribute to a growing company and share the work and challenges

Good to have but not mandatory:

  • Knowledge of time synchronization technologies
  • Altera Quatrus Pro
  • Experience with in-system debugging of FPGAs
