Job Summary

Aerial Crewman will be responsible for assisting Aerial Lineman with aerial new build and maintenance of communication facilities which includes fiber and coaxial cable. This is a safety sensitive position.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Understand the functionality of equipment, including, but not limited to an aerial lift device, lasher, and hand tools.
  • Assist the assigned crew by furnishing tools, materials, and supplies
  • Completion of ground level tasks in support of an assigned project leader
  • Keep work area neat and clean up after work completed
  • Hold materials or tools for other workers
  • Maintain equipment and tools, including, but not limited to an aerial lift device, lasher, and hand tools.
  • Ensures proper working condition of all equipment before use.
  • Complete all job-related paperwork in a timely manner
  • Work safely, with or without supervision, following all company and OSHA related health and safety rules.
  • Effectively communicate and interact with customers, co-employees and third parties.
  • Work in urban environment with excellent people skills
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour

Requirements:


Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Good manual dexterity.
  • Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hand tools and other equipment needed for various projects, including but not limited to lashers, drills, forklifts, etc.
  • The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
  • Experience in and/or demonstrated proficiency of cable construction
  • Experience and/or demonstrated proficiency in the operation and maintenance of construction equipment.
  • Strong communication skills both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to perform consistently under stressful conditions
  • Valid driver’s license required. CDL a plus
  • Authorized to work in the United States

Education and Experience

  • 2+ years’ experience

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work standing, lifting arms at shoulder height and overhead, for extended periods in various weather conditions
  • Must be able to stand, lie, and kneel in awkward positions and spaces
  • Must be able to lift and pull objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Must have manual dexterity and physical strength necessary to operate tools and equipment.
  • Must have visual acuity to inspect equipment and identify defects.
  • Must be able to hear well enough to receive verbal instructions from a distance.
