Circ's flexible technology is powering the clean closet and helping the fashion industry make monumental strides toward a truly circular eco-economy.

We've pioneered a technology that can recycle polycotton — what the majority of our clothes are made of — into reusable fibers. In essence: our process takes textile waste and turns it into materials that your most beloved fashion labels can use for tomorrow's clothes.

Circ is a registered B Corp Company, named one of Fast Company's Most Innovative Companies and a finalist in the Earthshot Prize. We're unafraid to tackle the hardest challenges and we set ambitious goals that ensure our hard work will make the maximum impact.

Overview

Circ is looking for a hands-on IT Manager with at least 5 years of experience to lead our internal IT function. You'll be our go-to IT expert—comfortable both executing daily tasks and shaping long-term strategy, without an internal team (for now). This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being deeply embedded in the day-to-day while also thinking ahead about systems, tools, and scalability.

You'll manage everything from endpoint setup and device procurement to security monitoring, user support, and infrastructure planning. As our first internal IT hire, you'll play a key role in helping us transition away from our Managed Service Provider and building the foundations of a strong, secure, and scalable IT environment.

This is a highly impactful role with the autonomy to build and refine the systems that enable our distributed team to do their best work.

  • Hybrid (Raleigh/Durham preferred): Primarily remote, with in-person travel to Danville, VA HQ as needed for IT support.

Responsibilities

IT Operations & Support

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all internal IT support and help desk questions
  • Manage employee onboarding and offboarding (device provisioning, access setup, asset tracking)
  • Procure, configure, and ship laptops and other hardware to employees
  • Maintain our Mobile Device Management (MDM) platform
  • Manage Microsoft licensing and troubleshoot user access and issues
  • Conduct employee training on IT best practices (e.g., phishing awareness, secure password use)
  • Provide support and guidance on SharePoint and file structure organization

Infrastructure & Systems

  • Own the administration and optimization of company-wide IT systems
  • Create and enforce IT policies covering areas such as access controls, password hygiene, secure file sharing, device usage, software installation, data retention, and acceptable use
  • Evaluate and recommend new tools and systems that support business growth

Security & Compliance

  • Monitor device and network security, including antivirus, patch management, and endpoint protection
  • Respond to and mitigate phishing and other security threats
  • Maintain documentation for IT procedures, configurations, and asset inventory

Strategy & Planning

  • Lead the offboarding of our current MSP and ensure continuity during the transition
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to support evolving IT needs
  • Develop and manage the IT budget and vendor relationships

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in IT operations, support, or systems administration
  • Experience working in small to mid-sized companies (50–250 employees), ideally as a solo IT lead or in a small team
  • Experience transitioning away from or managing an MSP
  • Familiarity supporting remote or globally distributed teams
  • Strong expertise with Microsoft 365, MDM platforms, identity management tools, and endpoint security
  • Comfortable being both tactical and strategic—you'll be both the architect and the operator
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and prioritization skills
