Position Overview

Technical Operations Lead is a highly skilled individual with deep expertise and knowledge of specific production processes, equipment, systems, or workflows in a manufacturing environment. They act as a key resource for troubleshooting, optimizing operations, and training others to ensure efficiency, quality, and compliance with company standards. The Technical Operations Lead plays a critical role in enhancing productivity, improving operational efficiency, maintaining high-quality standards, and ensuring a well-trained workforce. They act as a bridge between management and production teams, ensuring smooth operations and knowledge transfer.

Main Responsibilities

Technical Expertise

• Serve as the go-to authority on specific production processes, machinery, or operational techniques.
• Provide in-depth knowledge of workflows, tools, and equipment used in production.
• Develop and maintain production recipes across our product catalog.
  
  

Training And Mentorship

• Train production staff on standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety protocols, and best practices.
• Mentor/develop team members to enhance their technical skills and understanding of production systems.
  
  

Troubleshooting And Problem Solving

• Diagnose and resolve complex issues related to production processes, machinery, or product quality.
• Ability to make real-time decisions through day-to-day operations that align with company/customer priorities and optimal outcomes.
• Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams to implement corrective actions.
• Develop troubleshooting guides for basic production issues.
  
  

Process Optimization

• Identify inefficiencies in the production line and recommend improvements to maximize productivity.
• Implement Lean Manufacturing or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  
  

Quality Assurance

• Ensure all production activities meet company and regulatory quality standards.
• Collaborate with the Food Safety team to address defects and establish preventive measures.
  
  

Collaboration

• Work closely with the production manager, supervisor, and operators to align processes with company goals.
• Provide input during the design and implementation of new processes or equipment.
  
  

Documentation And Compliance

• Create and maintain detailed documentation for processes, equipment operation, and troubleshooting guides.
• Ensure adherence to industry regulations, company policies, and safety standards.
  
  

Skills And Qualifications

• Technical Knowledge: Advanced understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment, and systems.
• Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
• Training Abilities & Documentation: Strong communication and instructional skills for educating team members. This includes experience in drafting/updating technical training documents that can be leveraged in the training process for new/developing employees.
• Problem-Solving: Quick and effective resolution of complex technical issues.
• Attention to Detail: Ensuring high-quality outcomes and compliance with standards.
• Collaboration: Strong teamwork and ability to work cross-functionally with various departments.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, or a related field (preferred).
• Extensive experience in a manufacturing environment, with a focus on specific production areas.
• Certifications in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies (preferred).
• Proficiency in using manufacturing software, tools, and equipment.
