The Senior Accountant is responsible for financial data integrity and for executing all processes related to monthly and year end accounting close. Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Perform complex accounting activities and financial analysis to produce accurate financial reports and statements for multiple entities
- Coordinate complex accounting projects and initiatives with other members of the finance team or with other departments.
- Create, produce and report on financial key performance indicators.
- Coordinate accounting’s responsibilities as they relate to the organization’s annual financial budget process.
- Identify opportunities to enhance accounting procedures for process improvement and efficiency.
- Enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles following GAAP and regulatory requirements.
- Ability to meet financial accounting objectives and constant stream of timelines
- Ensure adherence to established internal controls and related procedures.
- Coordinate in conjunction with the Director of Financial Services and other finance team members all aspects of the annual audit.
- Maintain the general ledger, and perform other accounting duties as assigned.
- Strong accounting skills and thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures.
- In depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Competency in project management.
- Demonstrate technical skills with MS Office products. Experience with Sage Intacct accounting software a plus.
- Power BI or similar application experience preferred.
- Advanced MS Excel skills including Pivot tables, Vlookups,
- Technical skills in customizing software or templates preferred.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills including customer service.
- Ability to handle multiple concurrent projects in a deadline-driven environment.
- High level initiative, attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills.
- Ability to work under time-sensitive deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Superior Analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or similar degree required.
- Master’s, CPA or CMA certification preferred.
- Three years experience working as Financial Controller, Accounting Supervisor or Senior Accountant preferred.
- Minimum Ten years of progressive accounting experience preferred.
- Non -profit or healthcare experience will be a plus.
