Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Contract Accountant to join our team in Clinton Township, Michigan. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in Sage accounting software. Key responsibilities include managing month-end processes, preparing and posting journal entries, verifying and reporting financial data, and enhancing our current accounting infrastructure, policies, and procedures. This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and experience in private or public accounting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage multi-state payroll operations efficiently.- Utilize Sage software for accurate financial reporting and data management.- Conduct month-end closing activities and ensure timely completion.- Prepare and post journal entries with precision.- Verify and report financial data to ensure accuracy and compliance.- Evaluate and improve accounting infrastructure, policies, and procedures.- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support financial objectives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.- Proven experience in private or public accounting.- Proficiency in Sage accounting software (preferred)- Strong understanding of multi-state payroll processes (preferred)- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.- Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively.
