Western Tidewater CSB is seeking a Program Manager for our Traumatic Brain Injury Program in Suffolk, VA.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Responsible for daily oversight of assigned programs and services including responding to critical incidents, ensuring effective program operation, service billing, and monitoring employee behavior.
  • Maintain up to date supervision notes and documentation of employee performance in accordance with agency and program policy and procedure for all individuals directly or indirectly receiving supervision.
  • Document staff performance concerns in accordance with agency and program policy and procedure.
  • Provide and/or arrange for training for all employees under their purview, including: agency required training, remediation for performance deficiencies and for increasing clinical or professional skills associated with their role.
  • Maintain up to date program descriptions for any program under their purview.
  • Remain current with all applicable Licensure, Medicaid, and other regulatory standards associated with any program under their purview and as appropriate incorporate appropriate changes into program standards.
  • Adhere to rules and regulations related to consumer rights and maintain confidentiality of consumer records.
  • Conduct regular quality assurance reviews of program records to ensure compliance with all regulatory and payor standards.
  • Review employees’ time, requests for leave, and ensure appropriate coverage of associated programmatic responsibilities in the absence of employees approved to take leave.
  • Foster an environment in which employees and external entities work collaboratively to meet consumer and agency needs as efficiently as possible.
  • Ensure all billable services rendered within programs under their purview are submitted for reimbursement.
  • Perform ongoing Public Relations for marketing of services in the community.
  • As assigned by the Clinical Director, participate in and appropriately represent the agency’s mission at community and statewide stakeholder groups and other collaborative meetings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Clinical Director.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Clinical knowledge of human development and psychological theory as it relates to traumatic brain injuries, human behavior, addiction, and PTSD.
  • Understanding of the traumatic brain injuries and its impact on physical and psychological states and relationships.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and community partners
  • Ability to search and critically review best evidence to guide clinical decision making and effectively share knowledge with colleagues as well as communicate relevant findings in appropriate language to the general public.
  • Some knowledge of military culture.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize with minimal direction and maintain a well-organized work environment.
  • Ability to problem-solve, use good judgement, and deal with diverse and difficult personalities. Ability to work under moderate to high measures of stress.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills
  • License Eligible Mental Health Professional (Resident or Supervisee) through the Virginia Board of Professionals.
  • Master’s degree in Psychology or relative Human Services field.
  • At least three (3) years of experience in Human Services.
