Description

The Academic Director of the Nuvance HealthMajid Sadigh, MD Global Health Academy (hereinafter Global Health Academy) is responsible for providing clearly defined strategic, operational, and administrative leadership for the Global Health Academy. Furthermore, the Academic Director will partner with the Executive Director for Global Health at Nuvance Health and the Global Health Academy's Executive Board to develop strategic vision and priorities and establish performance objectives to ensure the highest standard in the field of global health.

Responsibilities

  • Works in conjunction with the Executive Director in providing overall leadership for the Global Health Academy.
  • Implements and evaluate the goals and strategies of the Global Health Academy.
  • Assists the Executive Director in maintaining the current and establishing new strategic partnerships with partners (academic institutions, healthcare institutions, NGOs, government agencies, and international organizations) across the world whose mission and values align with global health philosophy at Nuvance Health.
  • Leads recruitment, retention, and evaluation of Faculty in the Global Health Academy.
  • Designs, builds, launches, and manages programs that align with the overall mission of the Global Health Academy and brings value to our partners and Nuvance Health, as a whole.
  • Creates and deploys a comprehensive and engaging curriculum for the Global Health Academy that covers various aspects of global health (including but not limited to public health, healthcare systems, epidemiology, health policy, evidence-based medicine, clinical teaching skills, clinical research skills, leadership in medical education, and more).
  • Designs innovatives joint/twin programs. Works closely with international partners toward collaborative educational programs (joint/twin programs - certificate, diploma).
  • Engages with international partners to promote the educational services, provided by the Global Health Academy, in order to better understand their needs and aspirations, and actively seek feedback to improve the learning experience. Explore and organize potential common interests among partner institutions.
  • Stays current with trends, research, and emerging issues in global health to inform curriculum updates and program enhancements. Stays informed about advancements in education, global health, and leadership through continuous learning and networking.
  • Organizes and oversees Visiting Scholars, Global Health interns, and Fellows as well as domestic and international participants at the Global Health Academy.
  • Collaborate with leadership of the Nuvance Health/Larner College of Medicine at The University of Vermont Global Health Program (hereinafter Global Health Program) in developing new curricula, educational modules, conduct assessments and evaluations of participants of global health program electives.
  • Travels to the international sites for administrative and educational activities.
  • Assists the Executive Director in development and maintenance of the financial budget related to the Global Health Academy.
  • Participates in organizing annual global health conferences and other global health-related events.

Job Requirements

  • Doctorate degree (MD and/or PhD)
  • 7+ years of experience in global health educational programs.
  • Ability to apply and instill advanced knowledge through teaching, service, and public health practice.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.
  • Leadership experience in an academic setting.
  • Experience in designing, creating and leading teams for impact.
  • Prior teaching experience in global health, medical education, non-communicable diseases, tropical medicine, or related field.
  • Strong interpersonal and program/project-management skills.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills to gather and interpret data and develop metrics to measure desired outcome

Salary Range: $110,000 - $125,000 annually commensurate or relative to experience.
