Job Description

Upholsterer Level I / Window Covering

Join a great team of Upholsters in their responsibility to maintain and keep the campus of Brigham Young University as a beautiful place of inspired learning. This upholster/ window covering installer is responsible for supervising, overseeing, coordinating, and hands on work for all the Upholstery and window coverings work of the project according to project plans. Their duties include performing quality control, safety checks, providing on-site direction, and hands-on completion of the work being accomplished. They will need to complete each project within the budget and timeframe needed. They will be responsible for training and mentoring employees. This is a working position, in addition to their supervisory responsibilities, and they will also be responsible for performing the needed upholster/window coverings work required for each project.

Note: This is a part-time position (28) hours per week.

What you’ll do in this position:

  • Supervise Personnel and Shop projects
  • Furniture Fabrication and Recovering for campus customers
  • Custom construction, Design and Fabrication
  • Drapery, Blinds and Stage Curtains ordering and installation

What qualifies you for this role:

Required

  • A firm commitment to the mission of BYU.
  • One year journeyman upholsterer/ window covering experience or equivalent Required.
  • Complete all safety training

Preferred

  • Two years journeyman Upholsterer/ window covering experience or equivalent preferred

Pay Grade: 49

Typical Starting Pay: Depending on Experience
