This role involves assisting with scheduling assistance, organizing materials, supporting welders/fabricators, acting as a communication hub between departments, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
Requirements
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead by example with a Safety First mindset in every task
- Assist with coordinating daily production activities and job scheduling
- Maintain visual management of KPI (Key Performance Indicator) boards
- Communicate with team leads and supervisors regarding job priorities and workflow issues
- Follow all safety guidelines and report any hazards or incidents immediately
- Manage visual presentation of production schedule
- Prepare job packets (prints and job travelers) to release to production team
- Distribute job files to facilitate drafting of shop drawings
- Work closely with shop teams to allocate resources and materials efficiently
- Keep internal teams and management updated on production status, delays, or issues
- Print product tags for finished goods
- Promote interdepartmental knowledge-sharing to support the achievement of production, quality, and on-time delivery goals
- Additional duties as assigned
Education, Experience & Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proven experience in production coordination/similar role
- Experience in manufacturing environment
- Proficient in production planning software (ERP, MRP, or similar tools)
- Experience supporting fabrication scheduling and production processes
- Experience with NetSuite ERP
This position is located in an office environment attached to an active welding and fabrication facility. While the office space is climate-controlled and primarily quiet, employees may occasionally be exposed to shop-related conditions, including:
- Proximity to noise, vibrations, and odors typical of a manufacturing environment
- Occasional movement between the office and shop floor for meetings, coordination, or project support
- Required use of basic personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses and steel-toed shoes when entering the shop area
