Job Summary

The Site Operations Manager is responsible for leading operations in a critical spare parts management program at a busy client manufacturing site. This role requires hands-on experience in supply chain logistics, inventory management, people management, and client-facing operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing complex workflows, experience dealing with technical products and components, and the drive to ensure service level excellence, customer satisfaction, process efficiency, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily site operations including warehousing, shipping/receiving, production support, and inventory control for technical or engineered products.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a cross-functional operations team, including warehouse personnel, supervisors, and support staff.
  • Manage inventory accuracy, cycle counting, and reconciliation processes to ensure product availability and minimal obsolescence.
  • Collaborate with supply chain and procurement teams to ensure timely availability of materials and efficient inbound/outbound logistics.
  • Attend regular operational and strategic meetings with clients to present KPIs, discuss ongoing issues, and align on performance goals.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customer contacts, serving as the primary escalation point for site-level concerns.
  • Drive root cause analysis and resolution of operational issues, especially those involving technical product specifications, quality, or fulfilment challenges.
  • Monitor performance metrics (KPIs), track service levels, and implement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards, particularly in handling technical goods or equipment.
  • Develop and manage the site’s operational budget, including labor planning, equipment needs, and vendor services.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement projects (e.g., lean, 5S, Six Sigma) to streamline workflows and reduce waste.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in ‘Supply Chain’, ‘Business’, ‘Engineering’, or related field (preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in operations or site management, preferably in logistics, warehousing, or technical product environments.
  • Proven expertise in inventory control, material flow, and ERP/WMS systems.
  • Experience working with complex, high-value, or engineered products.
  • Strong client engagement skills with the ability to manage escalations and represent operations in executive-level meetings.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, people management, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, and familiar with supply chain tools and data reporting platforms.

Preferred Attributes

  • Passionate about collectively working to deliver the highest possible level of customer service.
  • Previous experience working with SAP, Maximo, WMS an advantage
  • Experience dealing with critical spare parts for MRO applications.

Working Conditions

  • On-site leadership role with regular interaction on the floor and in client-facing meetings.
  • May require occasional travel to other customer locations or regional company hubs.
  • Flexibility to support after-hours or weekend operations as needed.
