What You'll Do
As Creative Director, you’ll lead the creative vision for Dermalogica globally. You’ll oversee the development and execution of high-impact design and branding strategies that span print, digital, retail, experiential, and beyond. This role is a blend of strategic brand stewardship, hands-on creative direction, and team leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own the creative strategy for Dermalogica and sub-brands (e.g., Clear Start), ensuring alignment with marketing and brand goals across 80+ countries
- Lead and inspire a cross-functional in-house team including graphic designers, copywriters, motion designers, and project managers
- Direct all creative efforts across product launches, packaging, campaign development, advertising (consumer + trade), digital content, e-learning, social, and event branding
- Collaborate with senior leadership, global marketing, and international partners to execute brand initiatives that are consistent, on-brand, and culturally relevant
- Partner with external agencies, photographers, and freelancers to bring bold, creative ideas to life
- Mentor and develop creative talent to grow skills, maintain quality, and foster innovation within the team
- Ensure flawless execution of creative work, reviewing final deliverables, and providing clear feedback to meet quality, budget, and timeline expectations
- Champion innovation by staying on top of design trends, tools, and cultural insights to keep the brand fresh and forward-thinking
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, Marketing, or a related field
- 7+ years of experience in creative direction or senior-level design, ideally within the beauty, fashion, or prestige consumer packaged goods space
- 2+ years of experience leading and mentoring a creative team
- Proven ability to guide creative development from concept to production across multiple channels (print, digital, retail, social, packaging, experiential)
- A compelling portfolio that showcases brand building, campaign development, and multi-platform storytelling
- Big-picture thinker with a sharp eye for detail and an obsession for brand consistency
- A strong understanding of design principles, typography, photography, color, packaging, and motion
- Excellent communicator with the ability to articulate ideas and present work to senior stakeholders
- Highly organized and adept at managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, and collaborative project management tools
- A passion for team culture, innovation, and continuous improvement
- Comfortable with ambiguity and thrives on turning strategic insights into creative outcomes
