Hospice Support Specialist – Per Diem | PeaceHealth
Location: Bellingham, WA.
FTE: 0.00 (Relief) | Shift: Day
Salary Range: $21.07 – $31.59/hour
PeaceHealth is seeking a Hospice Support Specialist to join our dedicated team on a per diem basis. This is a great opportunity to support compassionate, end-of-life care while using your administrative and organizational talents to make a meaningful difference in patients’ and families’ lives.
In this vital role, you will serve as the front-line support for both clinical and non-clinical members of the interdisciplinary hospice team. Your responsibilities will include scheduling visits, verifying insurance and billing compliance, coordinating durable medical equipment orders, and maintaining accurate documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR) system.

Key Responsibilities:
- Support intake, scheduling, and registration for hospice patients
- Monitor benefit periods, care plans, and required documentation for compliance
- Manage health information, billing verifications, and durable medical equipment orders
- Assist with general office tasks, supply ordering, and team support
- Ensure smooth communication across interdisciplinary care teams
- High school diploma required.
- 1 year of experience in a healthcare setting preferred
- Strong customer service, time management, and multitasking skills
- Current or prior experience as a CNA is a plus.
- For WA-based Hospice Houses: WA Food Handler’s Permit required within 2 weeks of hire
