The Senior Manager of Inflight Global Base Operations leads and develops the Inflight SOC team, focusing on performance, communication, and station support. This role oversees systems and ensures their efficient use, while setting the strategic direction for operational performance aligned with revenue goals. Responsibilities include enhancing coordination between scheduling, base operations, and catering to improve employee and customer impact, maintaining accurate Inflight analytics, and promoting on-time performance and reliable onboard service. The position has oversight for the IFDM, smaller stations and line stations, NOC inflight supervisors, the operational analytics team, the Inflight consistency team, operational projects, execution workstreams, and the onboard experience specialist program. This role is based on site at the NOC in Arlington Height, IL.

Operational Metric Performance and Development

  • Lead the review and development of operational metrics with Americas/Global base operations leadership, focusing on out-station performance.
  • Collaborate with scheduling and base operations to align revenue management with financial targets and operational needs.
  • Facilitate strategic discussions among scheduling, base operations, and catering to enhance reliability and performance.
  • Monitor operational metrics, identify improvement areas, and assist leaders in action plan development. Provide performance reporting and follow-up to base leadership.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews with service partner leadership to address strategic objectives and recurring issues.
  • Present operational data in an accessible format for business staff. Develop measurable solutions using business KPIs and predictive analytics to address challenges. Track base reliability and implement corrective actions.
  • Serve as a liaison with other departments (Airport Operations, Flight Operations, etc.) to support on-time departures.
  • Continuously evaluate processes and create new metrics to meet customer needs and drive desired behaviors.

SOC Team Leadership and Development

  • Facilitate collaboration with Inflight base managers to improve SOC representation, engagement, and performance. Provide direction, support, and training to enhance SOC team skills.
  • Streamline communication among the Inflight Base Team, NOC leadership, Station partners, and Catering.
  • Partner with Inflight departments such as Policies and Procedures and Safety / Training to implement efficient field processes.
  • Ensure delivery of Inflight and marketing products and communicate cross-departmental initiatives and policy updates to base teams.
  • Monitor compliance with company goals, policies, and procedures and drive project management aligned with departmental priorities.
  • Support base leaders in safety, reliability, and customer satisfaction goals and manage continuous improvement efforts to build positive relationships across teams to achieve shared objectives
  • Equip SOC representatives with tools for timely and accurate results.
  • Oversee Inflight Services performance in alignment with the flight attendant collective bargaining agreement.
  • Lead operational training on technological updates supporting dependability and NPS strategies. Oversee the annual review of base management training to foster leadership development.

Qualifications

What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

  • Bachelor’s degree or 4 years of relevant work experience
  • 5-7+ years’ experience working in the Inflight division and supporting / managing flight attendants
  • Flight qualified or ability to successfully complete the flight attendant training program
  • Ability to manage change effectively
  • Proven ability to drive employee engagement
  • Knowledge of Inflight contract
  • Good negotiation skills
  • Strong written and verbal communications
  • Good Presentation skills
  • Proven analysis and data tracking
  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualifications
  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

  • Master’s degree
  • 1-3 years leading teams in multiple locations
  • Experience working within or supporting the Inflight division/ managing flight attendants
  • Employee relations experience

The base pay range for this role is $124,735.00 to $169,950.00.

The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, education, and skills. This position is also eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
