ANNOUNCEMENT OF POSITION VACANCY


SUMMARY: Cal Poly Pomona Enterprises is currently searching for a part-time research technician to work in the laboratory of Prof. Jamie Snyder in the Department of Biological Sciences.


SOME OF THE THINGS THAT YOU WILL GET TO DO (this is just a small sampling of work variety):

  • Culture archaea in high temperature, low pH conditions.
  • Determine conditions for viral replication in archaeal cells
  • Test for virus using qPCR and western blots
  • Develop a flow virometry technique for quantifying live/dead virus
  • Development of SIP protocol to track biogeochemical pathways.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in biology or related field.
  • Excellent English verbal communication and writing skills.
  • Responsible and dependable.
  • Ability to work well with various people including students, faculty, and staff.
  • Motivated, innovative, and shows initiative.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
