Summary Statement (Objective or purpose of this position):

This position performs human resource tasks and carries out responsibilities in all functional areas of HR including employee relations, recruitment, employee policies and compliance, and benefit program management and administration,


Key Job Elements (Essential Functions Performed):

  • Provide operational HR support and expertise in employee relations, talent acquisition, onboarding, organizational changes, learning and development, performance management, benefits and compensation.
  • Oversee HR and payroll procedures (new hires, terminations, promotions, progression/merit increases etc.), ensuring data accuracy and integrity
  • Administer employee benefits programs such as retirement plans; medical, dental, vision plans; life insurance plans, open enrollment and temporary disability programs.
  • Assist associates and managers with HR related questions, interpreting and explaining HR policies, and resolving employee relation issues.
  • Complete new hire orientation and the onboarding processes for payroll and benefits.
  • Administer the annual benefit enrollment process and throughout the year as needed.
  • Process and administer all leave-of-absence requests and disability paperwork: medical, personal leave, disability and FMLA.
  • Managing temporary labor staffing at multiple locations.
  • Coordinate and execute end-to-end recruitment efforts, including posting job, screening resumes and scheduling interviews.
  • Provide HR reporting and analysis as requested.
  • Administer mandatory and non-mandatory training.
  • Address employee concerns and mediate all employee relations while maintaining confidentiality and compliance.
  • Maintaining digital files for team member documents, benefits and attendance records.
  • Creating employee engagement plans, getting approvals and initiating activities.
  • Coordination of medical leaves and appropriate application to FMLA and STD.
  • Coordination of time and attendance of hourly employees as well as maintenance of the points system.
  • Support the annual performance management processes, as well as other HR projects and change management initiatives
  • Actively take on projects/actions arising from the HR strategy or from policy/procedure changes


Basic Qualifications (Education/Experience required):

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or equivalent experience.
  • PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred.
  • 4-6 years of progressive HR experience in manufacturing and/or distribution, with a focus on employee relations, compliance, payroll, and benefits administration.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality with employee information.
  • Previous experience with ADP Workforce Now and Enterprise eTime preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of employment laws, rules and regulations, policies and procedures, and audit and internal control guidelines.
  • Excellent communication skills, including verbal, written and presentations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to assess when an issue must be escalated to the next level.
  • Must be analytic, detailed-oriented, highly organized and have excellent follow-up skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully and independently manage employee relation issues.
  • Intermediate knowledge and expertise with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
