Salary Range: $25.00 – $30.00(Based on experience)

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated EKG Technician to join our team! As an EKG Technician, you will be responsible for monitoring various portals for important patient alerts, setting up patients for remote transmissions, scheduling patients for in office device interrogations, performing device interrogations, creating transmission and interrogation reports accurately, performing electrocardiogram (EKG) tests to monitor and record the electrical activity of patients' hearts, verify insurance eligibility and request prior authorization. Your role will be crucial in assisting physicians in diagnosing and treating various cardiac conditions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform technical service including but not limited to 12 lead electrocardiograms, rhythm strips, pacemaker analysis
  • Daily monitoring of patient alerts in various portals and keep in close communication with physicians and patients
  • Serve as the point of contact between office teams, physicians and various technicians for patients enrolled in device monitoring clinic
  • Perform remote device monitoring for all enrolled patients
  • Review transmissions, create accurate reports, upload into EHR, notify physicians as necessary
  • Operate device interrogation equipment - Perform EKG tests on patients using specialized equipment - Prepare patients for EKG test by explaining the process and ensuring their comfort - Operate EKG machines and interpret the results - Collaborate with physicians to analyze and evaluate EKG test results, device interrogation results - Maintain accurate records of patient information, test results, and other relevant data - Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of EKG equipment and interrogation equipment - Follow established protocols and safety guidelines during all procedures - Assist with other cardiac diagnostic procedures such as telemetries or Holter monitoring as needed

Skills

  • To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills:
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to accurately recognize arrhythmias, interpret EKG test results - Proficiency in obtaining vital signs and accurately recording patient information - Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
  • Effective communication skills to interact with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals
  • Must have a working knowledge of complex cardiac arrhythmias

Requirements

  • Must have a working knowledge of complex cardiac arrhythmias
  • Associate Degree or a combination of education and work experience
  • Must possess Certificate in ECG
  • Understanding of basic ECG principles, acquisition and interpretation
  • Experience performing stress testing and Holter monitor scanning, or recent experience as a telemetry tech
  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs

Work Schedule

  • Monday-Friday with overtime opportunities, some Saturday availability
