The Role
We are looking for a proactive and service-oriented IT Specialist to join our team and support the day-to-day technology needs of our growing company. In this role, you'll ensure employees are equipped with the right tools and systems to do their best work, whether that means deploying new devices, setting up software, solving urgent technical issues, or maintaining the infrastructure that keeps everything running smoothly. Working closely with the IT Manager, you'll be responsible for a mix of technical troubleshooting, device administration, and systems improvement. Location: Candidates must permanently and currently reside in Lincoln, Nebraska or the surrounding metro area. Fully or partially in-office: Employees are expected to work fully in-office (5 days/week) during the initial onboarding period, with the potential to shift to a hybrid schedule (3 days/week in-office) after onboarding and based on team needs.

What You'll Do
- Configure and deploy workstations, mobile devices, and software for new and existing employees.
- Troubleshoot technical issues users are having with their computer systems and software, providing timely and effective support.
- Manage device inventory and oversee change management, ensuring records are accurate and up-to-date.
- Install, upgrade, and maintain hardware and software across a variety of systems.
- Assist with administration tasks, including managing user accounts and permissions.
- Monitor, test, and improve system performance to meet organizational needs.
- Educate employees about cybersecurity and computer usage best practices.
- Assist in data backup management and loss prevention protocols, ensuring data storage is safe, secure, and backed up regularly.
- Enforce cybersecurity and endpoint protection policies in collaboration with the broader IT team.

- Ensuring team members have the tools and support they need to work efficiently from day one.
- Minimizing downtime and tech disruptions by proactively maintaining and troubleshooting IT systems.
- Strengthening our security posture through policy enforcement, device oversight, and employee training.
- Playing a key role in enabling scalable, secure, and streamlined IT operations across the company.
- 1+ years of experience in IT support or a related technical role.
- In-depth knowledge of various computer hardware, software, and operating systems (experience with Apple product is a plus).
- Familiarity with identity management, MDM services, and internal communication tools.
- Administrative experience with Google Workspace, Jamf Pro, Zoom, or Slack, preferred.
- An understanding of basic networking concepts, functions, and troubleshooting.
- Strong communication skills - you can clearly explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
- A customer-first mindset, with a focus on providing timely, effective, and personable support.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- High school diploma required; degree in computer science or related field, preferred.
- Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to oversee inventory, documentation, and change management.
- A continuous growth-mindset, with a focus on learning, embracing challenges, and continuously improving.
- A knack for creativity and innovation, bringing fresh ideas to the table and solving complex problems.
