Under the direction of the Production Control Supervisor, the Production Control Planner will be responsible for planning functions within the Production Control department relating to the planning, scheduling, and coordinating of production.

Essential Functions

  • Monitor incoming orders, customer deliveries, and customer expedites
  • Manage and update the master production schedule as required by the business
  • Present scheduling conflicts to management for timely resolutions
  • Enter Production Orders to fulfill demand requirements and meet customer schedules
  • Resolve production disruptions quickly via cross-functional support
  • Analyze opportunities for margin enhancement through utilization of economical production strategies
  • Provide support for Customer Service and Program Management departments
  • Efficiently resolve conflicting priorities of production requirements
  • Support the coordination of lean manufacturing and efficiency optimization activities from adjacent teams

Prerequisite Knowledge, Qualifications, Skills And Education

  • Six months of related experience and/or training in a manufacturing environment and/or completion of a related educational program required
  • Bachelor Degree from 4 year accredited college preferred
  • Familiarity with modern ERP/MRP software (i.e. SAP, Oracle, etc.) preferred
  • Must have excellent verbal and written English communication skills; ability to work from written and verbal instructions
  • Must be proficient in MS Office applications; high areas of use include Outlook and Excel

Physical/Mental Requirements

  • Must be a self-starter and quick learner and able to work in a fast paced environment with changing priorities.
  • Must be organized and have excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to understand and apply problem solving skills to seek continuous improvement in expediting on-time delivery to customers.
