The Center for Undergraduate Research & Engaged Learning (CUREL) supports student success and career readiness by coordinating high-impact programs across UC Riverside. This position plays a pivotal role in advancing a key campus strategic goal: expanding access to high-impact practices and internship opportunities for undergraduate students. Working in close partnership with the Division of Undergraduate Education and other campus units, this role leads the coordination, management, and growth of internship programs in four key areas: 1. Systemwide Academic Internships that enable undergraduates to spend a term in Washington, D.C., or Sacramento, engaging in academic coursework, professional internships, and career development opportunities. : - UCDC (University of California, Washington Center) - UCCS (University of California Center Sacramento) 2. Tilga Summer Internships - Donor Funded Internships 3. UC Riverside’s Global Career Accelerator Program – Virtual Internships. 4. Development and implementation of future donor- and non-donor-funded internship initiatives. In support of high-impact practices, this position assists the CUREL Director with the planning and execution of the Undergraduate Research & Creative Activities Symposium each spring quarter. Duties include marketing, collaborating with the faculty board, logistics planning, and outreach across academic units. This position is housed in Undergraduate Education and reports to the Director of the Center for Undergraduate Research & Engaged Learning (CUREL). The salary range for this position is $66,500.00 - $118,300.00 annually. However, the expected pay scale for this position is $66,500.00 - $80,664.00 annually. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs. Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff. As a University employee, you will be required to comply with all applicable University policies and/or collective bargaining agreements, as may be amended from time to time. Federal, state, or local government directives may impose additional requirements.

Knowledge of academic curricula. Skills in judgment and decision-making. Experienced knowledge of specific learning theory, learning styles, affective issues, academic issues, and socio-cultural/linguistic issues in applying academic support to students. Problem solving and organizational skills. Knowledge of program development, data gathering, assessment, and evaluation skills. Knowledge in designing and implementing learning and pedagogical models. Interpersonal skills. Knowledge of strategies in critical thinking, reading, writing, note taking, test taking, time management, and goal setting. Knowledge of how learning skills issues apply to a research institution. Multicultural competencies, knowledge and experience working and interacting effectively with diverse groups of staff, faculty, and student populations. Ability to multitask and prioritize projects with multiple deadlines. Ability to collaborate with partners and scale-up programs.
