The Key Account Manager serves as a strategic liaison and advocate for Nexio’s most critical merchant clients. This role focuses on relationship continuity, partnership health, and long-term satisfaction, without any responsibility for selling or promoting new products or services. KAMs ensure client needs are proactively met by orchestrating internal resources and facilitating strategic alignment.

The Key Account Manager serves as a strategic liaison and advocate for Nexio’s most critical merchant clients. This role focuses on relationship continuity, partnership health, and long-term satisfaction, without any responsibility for selling or promoting new products or services. KAMs ensure client needs are proactively met by orchestrating internal resources and facilitating strategic alignment.
Responsibilities
- Maintain executive-level relationships within assigned top-tier accounts.
- Conduct regular business reviews to understand client goals, operational needs, and satisfaction levels.
- Act as the internal advocate for client priorities, guiding internal teams (e.g. support, product, underwriting) to deliver aligned outcomes.
- Monitor processing health, integration status, and client milestones to ensure long-term success.
- Lead strategic planning conversations—but do not engage in sales or renewals.
- Own escalation paths and ensure cross-functional coordination to resolve high-impact issues.
- Provide market insights and client feedback to internal teams for continuous improvement.
- Regularly review pricing and profitability to make sure costs and margins are reasonable and within company expectations
- 5+ years in account management, customer advocacy, or partner management
- Demonstrated ability to manage executive relationships without a sales agenda
- Strong cross-functional coordination skills
- Deep understanding of merchant services workflows, risks, and priorities
- Client health score (qualitative + quantitative indicators)
- Retention rate of key accounts
- Resolution time for high-impact issues
- Internal alignment and strategic project participation
