Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following activities.
Project Controls
- Responsible for assisting project managers and project team members with all facets of project cost control and execution.
- Responsible for effectively capturing, tracking, and measuring various project budgets, actuals, and forecast costs.
- Establish, maintain, and update cost control budget, for both actuals and forecast via Work Breakdown Structure (WBS).
- Review and code project-related costs.
- Create, maintain, and distribute routine reports associated with all assigned projects.
- Identify opportunities to streamline and improve team processes and work products.
- Assist in preparation of the annual plan and quarterly forecast for designated areas of responsibility.
- Responsible for preparation of detailed variance analysis and executive-level explanations.
- Enhance reporting and business owner planning/forecast engagement for designated areas of responsibility.
- Review and approve monthly journal entries for the team.
- Support the preparation of monthly accruals and forecasts for all managed projects.
- Analyze and prepare journal entries to ensure the accuracy of project data and company financial statements.
- Prepare detailed ad-hoc reports.
- Adhere to internal standards, policies, and procedures.
- Support internal and external audits.
- Document and test internal controls, preparing related documentation.
- Support system functionality changes by testing and documenting results.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting is required.
- At least 10 years of relevant accounting experience with managerial responsibilities.
- Project accounting experience.
- Hands-on SAP FI experience required.
- Hands-on experience with SAP Project Systems Module, a plus.
- Working knowledge of SAP Procurement Module, a plus.
- Demonstrated understanding of accounting and financial principles.
- Highly organized and able to manage competing priorities and timelines.
- Continuous improvement mindset with the ability to improve a process from idea generation to implementation.
- Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups, etc.)
- Intermediate experience with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
- High motivation and initiative with an ability to work without close supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in finished work product.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Customer service orientation, with excellent follow-up and follow-through expected.
