Description

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Assist in the preparation and formulation of annual budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
  • Collect, analyze, and consolidate budgetary data from various departments.
  • Track obligations and expenditures against approved budgets.
  • Conduct periodic reviews to ensure funds are being used appropriately and effectively.
  • Identify and report on variances and recommend corrective actions.
  • Prepare recurring and ad hoc financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Perform cost-benefit analyses and financial modeling to support decision-making.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of internal controls and procedures.
  • Provide training and support to program teams on financial processes and systems.
  • All other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • College Bachelor’s degree with major or specialization in related field.
  • 2-5 years of relevant experience in budgeting, financial analysis, or fiscal management.
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and financial management software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to collect, synthesize, and interpret data and present findings
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Outstanding team player able to work with a diverse group of people stationed in different geographic locations
  • Hard worker that shows initiative
  • Works well with short turnaround deadlines in fast paced office environment and is adaptable to changing priorities
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q security clearance (requires U.S. citizenship)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong SharePoint capabilities
  • Master’s Degree in related field
  • Prior experience working federal government programs
  • Familiarity with NNSA Management and Operations (M&O) model
  • Experience briefing technical subjects to non-technical audiences

Location: The full-time hybrid position in Germantown, MD or Washington, DC.

SALARY: Salaries are determined based on several factors including external market data, internal equity, and the candidate’s related knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position. The salary range for this position is 80-100k.
