The Shipping & Inventory Specialist is responsible for overseeing the daily shipping operations, ensuring orders are processed accurately and efficiently. This role involves coordinating shipments, supervising shipping team members, and maintaining compliance with company policies and safety regulations. In addition, ensuring our parts, inventory is accurate, properly controlled, properly packed/labeled, and stored in the correct location while assisting in other material handling duties. The ideal candidate has strong organization skills, attention to detail, and leadership experience in a warehouse or distribution environment.

This role involves coordinating shipments, supervising shipping team members, and maintaining compliance with company policies and safety regulations. In addition, ensuring our parts, inventory is accurate, properly controlled, properly packed/labeled, and stored in the correct location while assisting in other material handling duties. The ideal candidate has strong organization skills, attention to detail, and leadership experience in a warehouse or distribution environment.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Oversee the receiving and inspection of all incoming shipments to verify accuracy against purchase orders and invoices.
- Maintain accurate records of received shipments, discrepancies, and damages, and report issues to management.
- Ensure proper labeling and organization of received inventory within the warehouse.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as purchasing and inventory control, to resolve discrepancies and streamline processes.
- Operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks, as needed.
- Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Improve efficiency in the receiving department by implementing the best practices and process improvements.
- Assist in conducting cycle counts and physical inventory audits as required.
- Lead and oversee the shipping department to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.
- Coordinate outbound shipments, ensuring proper packaging, labeling, and documentation
- Conduct quality control checks to verify order accuracy and prevent shipping errors.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.
Requirements
Required Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Effective communication and leadership skills to manage a team.
- Ability to lift and move heavy packages as needed up to 50lbs.
- Knowledge of shipping regulations, carrier requirements, and best practices.
- Additional certification in logistics or supply chain is a plus.
