Responsibilities: Under the direction of Families Forward (FF) Supervisor, works with a multi-disciplinary team to develop, implement, and supervise the Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) of FF Crisis Services. The CSU is a 24/7/365 Crisis Services program dedicated to servicing those currently in acute mental health distress. The responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: coordination of behavioral health milieu and treatment of the CSU, and coordination with the medical aspects of the unit, other crisis units, and other on-going units within FF and other CMHA-CEI programs. Other responsibilities include supervision of the CSU behavioral health components process and staffing, some direct services to consumers, consultation and participation in program planning and data collection and analysis, development of policy and procedures, and other administrative duties. Responsible for carrying out all activities of the program/sub-unit in such a manner that fulfills CMHA-CEI’s mission, policies and procedures.

Requirements: Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology or a related field from an accredited college or university required. Depending on area of assignment, a Bachelor's degree in Nursing may be acceptable. Possession of full license through State of Michigan required (e.g., LMSW, LPC). A minimum of 3 years of experience with individuals with mental illness is required. At least one (1) year work experience in a lead position or progressively more responsible position is required. Ability to communicate accurately and effectively both in writing and verbally is required. Possession of a valid Michigan driver’s license and access to reliable transportation for job related use is required. Must be familiar with computers. May participate in a management 24-hour on-call system, which may also include holidays and weekends. May be required to be physically able to perform Therapeutic Options A&B.

Conditional Employment Requirements: Employment offers for this position will be contingent upon the results a background verification and credentialing procedure consisting of: Michigan State Police clearance check, verification of a professional license, Medicaid/Medicare verification, verification of an acceptable driving record, educational background check and verification of an acceptable work history. An individual may be excluded from consideration based upon their driving record. May be required to be fingerprinted.
