Salary Range: $150,000 – $160,000

About the Role

Venbrook is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Director of Accounting to oversee financial reporting and accounting operations for our Programs Division and broader organization. This leadership role is responsible for monthly close activities, ensuring compliance with GAAP, maintaining internal controls, and supporting audits and M&A efforts.

You’ll collaborate across departments and report directly to our Controller of Financial Reporting.

What You’ll Do

Accounting Operations

• Lead the monthly close process for the Programs Division

• Prepare monthly financial statements and management reports

• Manage daily banking activities and trust account reconciliations

• Oversee corporate credit card program and Workday expense reimbursements

• Provide legal entity trial balances and tax support documentation

• Manage indirect tax filings (sales/use, B&O, personal property)

• Monitor and manage AP/AR for the Programs Division

• Prepare Bordereau and operational reports

Internal Controls & Financial Reporting

• Assist with company-wide financial reporting and footnotes

• Maintain and strengthen accounting policies and internal controls

Audit & M&A Support

• Coordinate carrier audits

• Assist with year-end financial audit prep

• Support M&A due diligence and post-acquisition integration

Team Leadership

• Lead and mentor accounting team members

• Identify opportunities for cost savings and improved processes

• Align accounting operations with company policies and financial strategy

What You Bring

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

• Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience

• Prior leadership experience managing accounting teams

• MGA or insurance industry experience is a plus

Skills & Competencies

• Strong command of GAAP and accounting principles

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and accounting systems (Workday preferred)

• Excellent communication, analytical, and leadership skills

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment
