Job Overview
The Director, Health Disparities is accountable for leading strategic initiatives to address health disparities and foster inclusive treatment of patients and families across Children’s Hospital Colorado. This role works collaboratively across divisions to embed health disparities principles into clinical practice, community engagement, and data analytics. This role also ensures all patients receive high-quality, culturally responsive care.

Annual Salary Range (Based on 40 hours worked per week): $134,579.79 to $224,299.64
Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Serves on a multi-disciplinary team focused on addressing the Six Domains of Quality - Safe, Timely, Equitable, Efficient, Effective, and Patient Centered.
- Manages communications and subsequent actions to the system on Health Disparities strategy, projects and hot topics.
- Maintains effective working relationships with internal peers, stakeholders, and senior leadership.
- Assigns and reviews annual goals for Health disparities function.
- Carries financial management responsibility for the Health Disparities function, developing budget recommendations and monitoring budget.
- Works on highly complex or sensitive projects; performs project management activities. Provides technical expertise on programs, processes, and best practices.
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulations related to health disparities.
- Develops and implements a comprehensive Health Disparities strategy aligned with the system’s mission, vision, and strategic plan. Identifies key performance indicators and monitors progress toward goals.
- Provides consultation and guidance on Health Disparities policies, program design, and service delivery
- Partners with clinical, operational, HR, and community health teams to integrate a focus on disparities into care delivery, quality improvement, and employee experience.
- Partners with Human Resources and other stakeholders to identify and inform opportunities for training, education, and improvements related to child health and health disparities.
- Lead efforts to collect, analyze, and report data on health disparities and uses data insights to drive change and inform program development.
- Builds and maintains partnerships with community organizations, advocacy groups, and peer institutions to support shared Health Disparity goals focused on addressing the social determinants of health. Partners with advocacy teams to inform efforts to improve health outcomes and reduce disparities by influencing local, state, or federal public policy.
- Participates in leadership activities for the quality division, and the community health and advocacy division contributing to the achievement of goals and objectives.
- Develops and maintains internal processes, identifying and implementing process improvements. Defines customer service standards for the Health Disparities functions; handles operational and customer service escalations.

- Master's degree
- Area of Study
- Public Health, Healthcare Admin, Social Work, Healthcare Mgmt. or related field.
- Experience
- Five (5) years of experience in healthcare or public health to include three (3) years of leadership experience.
- Equivalency
- Six (6) years of experience, beyond stated requirements, may substitute for Master's degree.
