What You’ll Do
- Reviews and evaluates information of mortgage loan documents to determine if buyer, property and loan conditions meet Credit Union, Investor, and government standards.
- Answer incoming calls from members/team members regarding mortgage lending products.
- Ensure a high level of communication is achieved with all parties of the mortgage lending process. Including; borrowers, real estate agents, Insurance agencies, county representatives, investors, and other teams within the credit union.
- Ordering and verifying documents needed for ensuring compliance, accuracy and completeness. Documents such as verification of employment/income, tax transcripts, homeowner’s insurance, flood, appraisal, title, asset verification, etc.
- Calculating final numbers and doing final review for accuracy before closing.
- Stacking file and preparing for closing.
- Work directly with the Mortgage Consultant to process files and support them to achieve production goals.
- Participate in the effectiveness, efficiency and workflow of the team.
- Ensure compliance standards and all Credit Union policies and procedures are met.

The experience you need to succeed:
- One year to three years of similar or related experience in lending / processing / underwriting in a financial Institution.
- Experience with Mortgage lending/ Title loans highly preferred.
- Understanding of Mortgage related products and terminology is a must.
- Must have High School diploma or equivalent G.E.D.
- Knowledge of mortgage products and rates both within the Credit Union and industry overall.
- Proficient with standard office business machinery and software. With working knowledge of Microsoft Word/Excel/Outlook.
- Works primarily in a hybrid office environment with occasional days required in-office. This includes but is not limited to various outdoor and indoor climates, public venues, and driving conditions. (Hybrid or work from home employees must be able to report in office if required.)
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee may regularly need to: see, talk, hear, and perform repetitive movements with arms, hands, and fingers to handle, feel, grasp, and reach. A computer, phone -possibly including a smart phone, and standard office equipment are normal tools for this position. Specific vision abilities that may be required by this job include close vision and distance vision. The employee may at times also need to: climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
