Summary of Job Function
Plans, organizes, directs, coordinates and controls the clinical and administrative activities of the Emergency Department in accordance with the Nursing Department s Strategic Plan; federal, state regulations and DNV standards,
Represents hospital administration and as such serves as the delegated agent of the hospital administrative team and is invested with the authority of the same on the assigned shift,
Reports to the Emergency Room Nursing Administrative Director,
Responsible to coordinate and evaluate quality and clinical practice activities in compliance with the Nurse Practice Act, DNV and NJDOH licensing standards,
Ensure that the Emergency Department is in compliance with all applicable policies, laws and regulations,
Job Qualifications/Education/Training/Certification/Licensure
Education:
Preferred: Master s Degree in Nursing and a national board certification
Required: Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing and obtain a national board certification within one year of hire date,
Experience:
Three years of Emergency Room Nursing experience required,
Two years management experience or demonstrated ability in effective communication, problem solving, performance motivation and leadership required,
Certification/Licensure:
Current New Jersey Registered Nurse license in good standing
