The Assistant Director of Admissions and Financial Aid is responsible for using the Jesuit, Catholic mission and identity of Fairfield Prep to provide essential support in our comprehensive enrollment strategy for our college preparatory program, managing day-to-day admissions operations and financial aid services while supporting the VP for Enrollment Management and Associate Director of Admissions in achieving enrollment goals for young men seeking a rigorous, Jesuit education. The position reports directly to the VP for Enrollment Management. Responsibilities of this position include:

Admissions Operations (50%)
- Manage admission application files and maintain organized systems for application tracking and review
- Process incoming applications, correspondence, and supporting documents
- Coordinate application review processes and prepare materials for admission committee meetings
- Manage the online admissions application database and ensure data accuracy
- Conduct campus tours for prospective families and assist with admissions events including Open Houses, information sessions, accepted student events, and yield activities
- Support school visits and recruitment activities at area middle schools and educational fairs
- Maintain communication with prospective families throughout the admissions process
- Coordinate entrance examination administration and logistics
- Prepare enrollment reports and statistical analysis as requested

Financial Aid Administration (35%)
- Process all aspects of the financial aid program including need-based aid, merit scholarships, and tuition assistance applications
- Review and analyze financial aid applications including institutional forms and supporting materials. Tax documents are analyzed by a third-party vendor
- Calculate initial financial aid awards within established parameters and school budget guidelines
- Maintain accurate financial aid database and ensure timely processing of applications
- Communicate with families regarding financial aid requirements, deadlines, and award notifications
- Coordinate with Business Office on tuition billing, payment plans, and family account management
- Prepare financial aid reports and assist with budget planning and analysis
- Manage appeals process and mid-year financial aid adjustments as needed
- Maintain files and ensure compliance with institutional financial aid policies
- Assist families with financial aid questions and provide guidance throughout the process

General Office Support & Special Projects (15%)
- Assist with developing enrollment communications and marketing materials
- Support data collection and analysis for enrollment reports and strategic planning
- Manage admissions office technology systems and databases
- Coordinate with other departments on enrollment-related initiatives
- Maintain organized filing systems and ensure accurate record-keeping
- Assist with special projects and initiatives as assigned by VP for Enrollment Management
- Supervise student volunteers during admissions events and provide guidance as needed
- Support general office operations including phone coverage and visitor assistance
- Experience in independent school, Catholic school, or college preparatory school environment
- Knowledge of financial aid processing and tuition assistance programs
- Familiarity with the Connecticut independent and public school landscape
- Experience with standardized testing coordination or educational events
