Salary: Competitive salary based on education and/or experience and holiday pay; $500 bonus after 6 months and $1,000 bonus after 1 year

Days: Monday through Friday

Hours: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Position

Lead and represent the Our Blood Institute to ensure high quality service to the local community. Ensure continued strategic growth for the territory and region while maintaining a credible and positive image for the Blood Institute. Secure new partners and business opportunities through community relationships and engagement.

All tasks undertaken, regardless of their timing, that have clear applicability to blood banking and transfusion medicine are considered within this position's scope of employment and are, therefore, subject to the Institute's Intellectual Property Policy and Procedures.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related curriculum preferred.
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Must be able to provide MVR with zero points and no moving/traffic violations in the past 3 years
  • Supervisory, operational, and/or blood banking experience, preferred.
  • Strong leadership, customer service, verbal, interpersonal, technical, and organizational skills.
  • Professional appearance and manner.
  • Self-directed, goal-oriented, and analytic work style.
  • Effective public presentation and computer skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under stressful conditions.
  • Flexibility to work long or unscheduled hours.
  • Possession of reliable transportation and a working telephone.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Define measurable goals for collections and recruitment efforts and work positively and effectively to meet these goals, while showing measurable growth success.
  • Ensure maintenance of organizational processes and achieving goals consistently. Foster a team environment with Donor Services and Recruitment.
  • Ensure mobile blood collection targets are met in a well-planned, efficient manner.
  • Maintain adequate staffing levels in OKC mobile donor services and OKC recruitment departments and delegate work appropriately.
  • Grow and develop community engagement opportunities with sponsor groups and donors, as well as local civic and community groups in order to increase recognition of the blood center in the community. Assess and provide growth opportunities to positively impact the operations blood collections.
  • Attentiveness to employee engagement, allowing opportunities for staff advancement and professional development. Maintain a high energy positive work environment through motivation, education, and recognition. Support and help promote the donor experience program and high level of donor satisfaction.
  • Support and endorse current and new guidelines and procedures set forth by department leadership.
  • Grow and cultivate relationships with media, community partners and leaders, and provide measurable outcomes.
  • Build a network of patient and donor ambassadors to support blood collections and blood center visibility in the community.
  • Always being prepared to be the outward facing brand of the organization for media and community events.
  • Conduct frequent community presentations and provide measurements to show impact on collections, partnerships, and community image.
  • Support social media efforts at a local level while working in a consultative fashion with CR Marketing & Media Relations Manager.
  • Provide frequent and consistent communication to Community Relations and Donor Recruitment and Donor Services mobile teams to ensure marketing needs are being met.
  • Help Lead mobile event planning and community partnerships, including but not limited to local events, system-wide events, donor, volunteer and recipient recognition events.
  • Leverage recruitment campaigns to solicit and engage development of new partnerships at local levels while enhancing any existing campaigns and partnerships.
  • Engage with and maintain consistent communication with organizational leadership to ensure expectations are being met and goals are being achieved.
  • Communicate proactively and in a timely manner to appropriate parties in the organization all significant center problems, concerns, and issues.
  • Foster a culture of accountability and professionalism.
  • Ensure operations are conducted in a manner compliant with regulatory and procedural expectations. Practice, promote and mandate Good Manufacturing Practices are followed to produce high quality blood products
  • Support Internal and external assessments through preparation, coordination, and follow-up.
  • Identify root causes and develop effective corrective actions for errors and deficiencies identified that occur at the mobiles as well as deficiencies that are observed during internal and external assessments.
  • Undertake special initiatives and reviews, as directed from senior management, to improve targeted business processes
  • Execute company directives to ensure that all operations are running smoothly and properly.
  • Manage and help develop the center's operational and capital budgets. Oversee local vendor and contract performance.
  • Responsible for the performance of routine administrative duties daily, such as preparing and managing financial budget and expenses.
  • Attend to personnel and human resources at the local level while consulting with HR and Executive Management
  • Proactively maintaining a clean and attractive fleet of coaches and supporting continued maintenance and management of issues as they arise.
  • Manage and ensure the proper and continued maintenance of vehicles, signage and equipment.
  • Coordinate operational, maintenance and safety measures to minimize work related injuries and ensure a safe environment for employees, visitors, and donors.
  • Assess and minimize risk and liability for the organization. Protect confidentiality of sensitive donor, patient, volunteer, and employee information.
  • Coordinate and approve appropriate center hiring, ensuring selection of high-quality candidates with proper skills and background. Work to minimize staff turnover and develop human resource strength via career ladders, succession plans, contingency measures.
  • Coordinate timely completion of performance appraisals for incumbent staff, ensuring that all paperwork is forwarded properly. Develop and submit necessary salary actions, including increases for completion of training, transfers, merit and promotions.
