Description

The Demand Planner plays a crucial role in managing and optimizing the balance between supply and demand. This position involves forecasting demand and collaborating with various departments to meet business objectives and customer satisfaction. The Demand Planner is expected to be a Salesforce power user, responsible for training users in Salesforce and creating/maintaining Salesforce dashboards and report templates used by cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop accurate demand forecasts using Salesforce inputs and statistical methods
  • Conduct market analysis to understand demand drivers and assess forecast results.
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, and operations teams to refine forecasts based on market trends and activities.
  • Work closely with supply chain managers to match supply with forecasted demand.
  • Identify and resolve supply chain constraints and discrepancies between supply and demand.
  • Prepare and present forecast and inventory metrics to management teams.
  • Regularly review and improve forecasting techniques, methods, and approaches.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Salesforce-related queries and issues.
  • Provide training and support to end-users to enhance their Salesforce skills.
  • Collaborate with Salesforce Administrators and Developers to implement new features and improvements.
  • Conduct regular system audits to ensure data integrity and compliance.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for Salesforce processes and best practices.
  • Assist in the creation and management of reports and dashboards to support business decision-making.
  • Stay updated with the latest Salesforce releases and features and recommend relevant updates to the system.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Statistics, or a related field (a master’s degree may be preferred for senior positions).
  • At least 2 years of demonstrated experience in demand planning and/or supply planning is required.
  • At least 2 years of demonstrated Salesforce experience with dashboards and reports is required.
  • Professional certifications such as Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) or Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) from APICS are highly regarded.
  • Proven experience with demand planning software and strong proficiency in statistical analysis and forecasting methods.
  • Extensive experience with Salesforce, including knowledge of its various modules and functionalities.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Salesforce certifications (e.g., Salesforce Certified Administrator) are highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in creating and managing reports and dashboards within Salesforce.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
