About The Position

Working with the Global Security Director, this role will provide leadership oversight, direction and enterprise-wide coordination of global security services for over 8,000 employees located worldwide in various offices, manufacturing facilities and remote locations. The Global Security Manager will enforce security policy and procedures while ensuring the protection of classified information, intellectual property and sensitive government information. Duties include managing enterprise-wide Security programs to meet General Dynamics Land Systems and corporate requirements along with federal regulations and contract requirements.

Responsibilities To Anticipate/Expect

Responsible for global security governance and the development, coordination and management oversight of security practices, policies and procedures that ensure the protection of General Dynamics Land Systems (GDLS) personnel, facilities, classified information and intellectual property. A key responsibility will be the development of an enterprise-wide security strategy that is:

  • Fully integrated and coordinated with the Leadership Team, GDLS Cyber Security and Program Protections teams and all GDLS functions and business entities.
  • Identifies company's most critical risks and prioritizes security resources in a transparent and cost effective manner to mitigate and reduce these risks.
  • Effectively integrates and communicates Security protocols throughout the enterprise and global workforce.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Lead the GDLS Security Team and the contract guard force in the execution of their duties and responsibilities.
  • Ensure expert security guidance, risk assessments, and best practices are developed and disseminated in a timely manner.
  • Conducts coordination and liaison with the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA), Army Counterintelligence and other local, state and federal law enforcement agencies as needed, in coordination with the GDLS General Counsel, to ensure the protection of GDLS personnel and intellectual property.
  • Coordinate for the executive protection of the President and other executives and employees as required.
  • Responsible for anticipating external threats to employees, business locations, and intellectual property and devising effective and coordinated strategies for mitigating or removing such risk.
  • Monitors global environment for potential security threats to company personnel, sites and business operations.
  • Manages Travel Security program and coordinates with the Global Security Director to suspend/restrict company business travel when risk appropriate.
  • Ensures that all Company personnel traveling or assigned permanently overseas receive appropriate safety and security training, threat briefings, and where appropriate, personnel protection assistance.
  • Develops and manages the Emergency Evacuation Plans for GDLS personnel in high-risk environments.
  • Updates and manages the corporate-wide security systems throughout all sites, to include security CCTV and security access controls.
  • Responsible for planning, developing and implementing security plans and security programs such as Emergency Response and Crisis Management, Physical Security, Incident Management, while coordinating and leading investigations.
  • Develops policies and strategies for security, including but not limited to, internal investigations, security operations, government programs, physical security and access control.
  • Develops and delivers preventative programs and services to the work force to protect against criminal financial loss, crime against persons, sabotage, espionage, and other threats to the business.
  • Ensures all GDLS classified programs are compliant with various US Government requirements, the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manuel (NISPOM), to include counterintelligence briefing / debriefing processes.
  • Provides strategic advice, direction and counsel to all security employees and contractors at all sites.
  • 25% travel required both domestic and international.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • This position’s office hours are from 10:30 am to 8:00 pm
  • Able to obtain and maintain a government issued Top Secret Security Clearance (must be a U.S. Citizen).
  • Must be able to manage complex situations and make critical decisions regarding high value programs.
  • Experience managing teams and effective liaison with local, state and federal law enforcement agencies.
  • Must be able to respond to incidents or alarms after hours.
  • 7+ years professional experience in leading global compliance programs.
  • 10+ years of supervisory experience.
  • 15+ years physical security experience leading and implementing multiple security best practices.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Candidate has 15+ years of law enforcement or intelligence community experience.
  • Prior experience in leadership concentrated on Physical and Industrial security.
  • Security experience in oversees environments.
  • Substantive experience in physical security countermeasures and technology.
  • Ownership and program management of automation and technology implementation.
  • Advanced degree.
  • Proven leadership skills and strong business acumen.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional customer relationship skills.
