Our established pain clinic in Greenville is growing, and we are seeking a friendly, enthusiastic, and self-motivated, part-time certified medical assistant to join our dedicated team of providers. Providers at our ECPC clinics perform a variety of procedures to treat and manage acute and chronic pain. Our clinics are equipped with fluoroscopy suites to allow for direct on-site treatment of pain position. Our providers use a multi-modal approach to pain management. The position is for 32 hours a week and the ideal candidate will be available 1-2 Saturdays a month.

Job Summary
The Medical Assistant is a vital role to the pain clinic. The Medical Assistant will utilize both clinical and administrative tasks to help clinicians in the pain clinic. Daily responsibilities include patient registration, assisting the physician before/during/after procedures, in addition to various administrative tasks such as conducting prior authorizations and documenting medical information into the electronic medical records (EMR) system. The Medical Assistant must be attentive to patient needs and communicate any potential issues to staff. The Medical Assistant identifies patients’ needs, provides safe and professional care, and communicates any needs to the provider. Duties/Responsibilities
- Independently perform a comprehensive patient intake by gathering the past medical
recent imaging.
- Present the patient history to the provider.
- Document the patient encounter in our EMR system.
- Prepare relevant diagnostic imaging to be reviewed with the provider.
- Complete medication prior authorizations, including appeals and denials.
- Collect urine samples for drug screening and analyze the results to assess patient
- Collect pre-and post-procedural vitals for interventional treatments such as epidural
- Reduce the provider workload by performing tasks and anticipating their needs essential
- Return phone calls from patients, pharmacies, and insurance companies in a timely
- Respond to incoming faxes.
- Maintain a pleasant and cooperative demeanor while performing all duties.
- Keep an open line of communication with co-workers and providers regarding patient needs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required.
- Medical Assistant Certification preferred, but will consider experience in lieu of certification.
- Previous experience in a specialty medical office and EMR systems is preferred, but not required.
- Ability to communicate effectively and clearly, both in written and oral communication.
- Ability to handle high patient volumes in a professional manner.
- Ability to maintain composure in stressful situations.
