The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) provides vision and leadership in the development and implementation of company-wide information technology and systems. The CTO is required to understand the company’s top line goals and strategic direction and ensures the technology and security roadmaps are aligned and designed to maximize return on investment against company goals and strategic direction.

The CTO will demonstrate proficient management skills related to workforce development and engagement, process management, project management, and cost-effective financial performance. Must demonstrate the ability to link and apply complex technologies to business strategies and favorable outcomes. The CTO must have the ability to analyze and resolve complex issues, both logical and interpersonal. Work is full time and requires overtime. Work is conducted at CNS locations with work in the community and other sites as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Leads the planning, development, and implementation of an integrated technological ecosystem inclusive of electronic medical records, adjacent technologies, network and security, data management, analytics, and advanced learning.
  • Monitors advancements in technology to discover ways the company can gain competitive advantage.
  • Provides strategic and tactical planning, development, evaluation, and coordination of the information technology systems for the company.
  • Develops and deploys an IT/IS budget and strategy. Analyzes the costs, value, and risks of information technology to advise management and suggests actions. Ensures technology spend has an increasing unit efficiency year over year.
  • Communicates effectively with other executive leadership and their respective business units. Facilitates effective and productive communication among staff, management, vendors, and other stakeholders.
  • Collaborates with other business units to develop, improve, and integrate software or devices that improve clinical and business efficiencies. Anticipates how new policies, tools, and processes will impact the end-user, addressing proactive opportunities to deliver training and support.
  • Selects and implements suitable technology to streamline all internal operations and help optimize strategic benefit related to company goals and objectives. Oversees the design, customization, and implementation of technological systems and platforms.
  • Establishes, maintains, and evaluates vendor partnerships.
  • Guides the management of multiple information and communications systems and projects, including voice, data, imaging, and office automation.
  • Oversees and evaluates system security and backup procedures. Ensures the company’s data remains secure by keeping up to date on the latest cyber security threats and finds ways to guard against them on an organization-wide scale.
  • Facilitates and guides internal and external audits as recommended.
  • Oversees the IT/IS management staff who design, implement, and evaluate the systems that support end users in the productive use of computer hardware and software. Coach and mentor IT/IS professionals, and other staff within the organization, to develop a world class team of information system and information technology professionals.


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, and 10 relevant experience, or 15 years equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience as a CTO or another similar senior managerial role required. Experience in healthcare preferred.
  • Experience supporting environments such as Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, On-Premises software and services.
  • Demonstrated experience managing and leading Support & Engineering personnel.
  • Experience establishing Support Policies, procedures, and Governance.
  • Understanding of regulatory compliance and operational frameworks such as HITEC, HIPPA, and ITIL.
  • Technology specific certifications CompTIA Security+, A+, Network or equivalent Certifications desired.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present to all levels of an organization, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Proven ability to link and apply complex technologies to business strategies and favorable outcomes.
  • Project management experience, including successfully setting priorities, meeting desired outcomes, effectively and successfully managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • The ideal candidate will have experience in both organizations with established IT infrastructure and growing companies where systems and processes need to be designed and implemented.


The salary range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including skill sets, experience, education and training, certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It’s not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are arrived at each unique case. A reasonable estimate of the current salary is $161,000 - $265,000 per year.
