Position Overview
The Assistant Superintendent supports the Superintendent and Project Manager in managing overall project execution and field operations. This role ensures smooth project progression by coordinating trades, maintaining safety and quality standards, and managing daily site logistics. In the absence of the Superintendent, the Assistant Superintendent assumes full supervisory responsibilities. Key responsibilities include scheduling, facilitating inspections, maintaining as-built documentation, overseeing deliveries and laydown areas, enforcing cleanliness and safety, and leading project closeout and training efforts. Additionally, this role provides guidance to Eastern Builders' Field Engineers and coordinates with Project Engineers as needed.

Project Coordination & Leadership
- Master Construction Scheduling:
- Assist in developing and refining the overall Master Construction Schedule.
- Create and maintain short-term look-ahead schedules to guide project progress.
- Constructability & Preconstruction:
- Contribute insights on constructability and preconstruction strategies.
- Collaborate with project teams and preconstruction personnel to enhance planning.
- Site Utilization & Productivity:
- Implement and maintain an efficient site utilization plan to maximize workflow.
- Organize site logistics to drive productivity and operational efficiency.
- Subcontractor and Foremen Coordination:
- Lead preconstruction meetings to align subcontractor foremen with project goals.
- Foster collaboration among trades to prevent conflicts and ensure smooth execution.
- Quality Control & Inspection:
- Maintain and communicate the project’s quality control program.
- Coordinate and facilitate inspections with local inspectors and regulatory bodies.
- Safety Management:
- Promote proactive safety practices and enforce safety programs.
- Conduct regular safety audits to ensure compliance with OSHA and company standards.
- Materials Handling:
- Oversee delivery schedules, laydown areas, and materials storage.
- Minimize disruptions and maintain site cleanliness and orderliness.
- As-Built Documentation:
- Track field changes and update as-built documents for accurate project records.
- Closeout & Training:
- Lead project closeout activities, including punch list management and end-user training.
- Ensure smooth handoff and final documentation for client satisfaction.
- Field Engineer Coordination:
- Direct Eastern Builders' Field Engineers and collaborate with Project Engineers as required.
- Mentorship and Team Building:
- Train and develop team members, emphasizing knowledge transfer and skill growth.
- Build a cohesive and future-ready team culture.
