Requirements
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION/COMPETENCIES
Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To
- Collaborate on patient medical issues with the physician to determine protocol and procedure.
- Obtain and record patient identification, medical history, or test results.
- Administers and records isotope dosage in accordance with established departmental protocol.
- Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate.
- Perform medical care as needed, such as administering oxygen, taking vital signs and giving emergency treatments.
- Maintains patient confidentiality.
- Maintain, clean and report any issues with equipment.
- Administers appropriate high quality, patient-focused health care.
- Operates imaging equipment and other ancillary equipment properly and safely.
- Practices correct radiation protection, shielding and collimating, and proper exposure factors on each patient.
- Completes exams in timely and efficient manner and evaluates each film for acceptable technical quality.
- Accurately, efficiently, and completely documents all clinical patient care data.
- Participates in department quality improvement activities, staff educational programs, attends departmental meetings, and demonstrates and maintains clinical competency in the delivery of patient care services in accordance with Company guidelines.

- Employees shall adhere to high standards of ethical conduct and will comply with and assist in complying with all applicable laws and regulations. This will include and not be limited to following the Solaris Health Code of Conduct and all Solaris Health and Affiliated Practice policies and procedures; maintaining the confidentiality of patients' protected health information in compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA); immediately reporting any suspected concerns and/or violations to a supervisor and/or the Compliance Department; and the timely completion the Annual Compliance Training.
- License and certification as required by state through Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA).
- Valid ARRT Certification in Radiography.
- BLS certification required, ACLS preferred.
- Knowledge of routine to complex Radiologic procedures and protocols.
- Knowledge in healthcare systems operations such as EMR.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, healthcare coding systems, and clinics functions.
- Knowledge of governmental regulations and compliance requirements.
- Ability to provide documentation accurately and concisely.
- Demonstrates understanding of human cross-sectional anatomy, physiology, pathology, radiopharmacology, and medical terminology.
- Ability to assist patients for transfer from stretcher, wheelchair or in an emergency situation.
- Critical thinking skills and ability to make decisive judgment.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills with the ability to provide compassionate care to patients and family.
- Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness with ability to monitor own work to ensure quality.
- Complies with all health and safety policies of the organization.
- Associate Degree in Radiography.
- Graduate of Accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
- A minimum of 1 year of Interventional Radiologic Technologist experience required; urology experience strongly preferred.
