Primary Purpose –

The Human Resource Generalist will run the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including safety records, recruiting, employee record-keeping, and payroll processing. Some of their administrative duties include keeping up to date with safety protocols, maintaining training records, and assisting with medical leave tracking.

SCHEDULE -

Monday - Friday between 8:30am - 5:00pm. Mon-Thurs On-site, Fri Remote work opportunity.

SALARY RATE -

Salary: $65,000 - $75,000 / year

Essential Duties And Responsibilities -

  • Administers medical/protected leaves and ensures compliance with FMLA, ADA, PFL, STD, LTD, and other applicable legal, state, and federal regulations.
  • Maintains current information in compliance matrix.
  • Oversees the compliance of labor law posters.
  • Completes compliance audits (e.g., annual I-9 audit).
  • Manages daily attendance logs and updates trackers, system, and relevant parties as needed.
  • Tracks and maintains employee training records in HRIS system.
  • Assist with Workers Compensation claim management, ensure completion of all incident/accident investigation reports, update internal reports, and OSHA logs.
  • Facilitate communication with employees through the maintenance of HRIS system, bulletin boards, frequently updated electronic postings (i.e., television monitors), and other resources available.
  • Manages employee electronic & HRIS files.
  • Creates and presents compliance training decks to direct and cross-functional team(s).
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE –

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 2-3 years of experience supporting an HR department
  • Previous experience administering medical leave
  • Strong knowledge of state and federal employment laws and practices

(Preferred -not required- States of Knowledge: Oregon, Washington, California, Idaho, Utah, Alaska)

  • Technical soundness in Human Resources fundamentals and best practices and their application of them
  • Strong knowledge and working experience with Human Resources Information Systems
  • Exceptional written communication and bedside manner
  • Strong computer and technology skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Positive attitude
  • Willingness and openness to learn
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite programs
