Our Billings, Montana office is currently seeking an experienced Commercial Paralegal.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Commercial Paralegal will assist attorneys by providing clerical and administrative support services in all aspects of commercial transactions, probate administration, banking, finance, bankruptcy, and commercial litigation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Meet with attorneys, clients, and others to discuss assigned matters.
  • Obtain records from federal and state agencies.
  • Organize financial records.
  • Prepare and file business and commercial transaction filings with state agencies.
  • Assist with real estate searches and filings with county agencies.
  • Assist with probate administration, including preparing necessary probate court documents, non-probate transfer documents, tax filings, and managing court and tax filings.
  • Assist with trust administration, including preparation of trustee appointment documentation, trust reports and inventory, property contributions and transfers, distributions, and accountings.
  • Conduct asset research for judgment enforcement.
  • Assist with tax lien and tax deed foreclosure proceedings.
  • Gather and organize banking, brokerage, insurance, entity, real estate, and other property titles and other data.
  • Maintains records regarding billable hours.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

  • Able to gather relevant information, interpret and evaluate the data, and develop sound, practical solutions to difficult issues.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Paralegal Certificate preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of related experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (including Excel), Fox It, and other similar software.
  • Must be able to read, comprehend, and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Available to work overtime as needed and approved by attorneys.
  • Available to travel as needed.
  • Valid driver’s license.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
