Position Summary

The Director of Operations is relentless in his/her aim to facilitate effective school functioning and provide leadership on all non-instructional obligations in order to allow for a laser-focus on student achievement. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Director of Operations leads the operations department in ensuring effective day to day site operations in the following areas: facility maintenance, technology, food service, procurement, safety and compliance areas.

The ideal candidate for this position thrives on solving challenges, navigating ambiguity, and finding ways to work smarter. We are looking for someone with a strong track record of effective project management, data and information analysis, outcomes-based planning, and relationship building.

Requirements

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Facilities Maintenance and Monitoring

  • Oversee the coordination and management of the facilities department, including but not limited to: repairs/maintenance, security and other third party facility services
  • Oversee the coordination and management of ongoing janitorial maintenance of AMPS Sites.
  • Monitor, update, and communicate approved vendors list for sites.
  • Oversee the coordination and management of site equipment and furniture deliveries.

Safety Program Oversight

  • Ensure all safety handbooks, policies and forms are updated and communicated to school sites.
  • Oversee the coordination and management of safety trainings
  • Oversee the coordination and management of audit checks on safety drill and safety process compliance.

Enrollment

  • Manage enrollment websites
  • Manage systems and processes to support recruitment and enrollment and collaborate with Site Director to oversee the recruitment of new students and ensure the school meets enrollment goals
  • Manage lotteries and registration for prospective students and ensure compliance with the charter petition

Insurance

  • Manage and keep current various liability, facility and worker’s comp insurance policies.
  • Request and maintain certificates of insurance for vendors and rentals.

Food Service

  • Manage and oversee AMPS as a food service provider.
  • Oversee and ensure proper reporting to the state and federal governments.
  • Facilitate successful food service contracts and operations between schools and CMO.
  • Ensure and support the proper ordering and operational execution of the food service program at the sites.
  • Manage submission of and obtain reimbursements from state and federal governments.
  • Prepare and be the lead for all food service related audits and inspections.

Procurement and Vendor Relations

  • Manage the various organizational vendor relationships keeping terms and contacts up to date, in collaboration with the Finance Department.
  • Support procurement for both home office and the sites, in collaboration with the Finance Department.

Qualifications

Other Duties as Assigned

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 5+ years of working in an operational and project management role.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to manage and execute various projects and initiatives at once.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.
  • Clearance of TB test, fingerprints, and any other mandatory State/Federal licensing or certification requirements
