We are seeking someone who is highly organized, exercises sound judgment, maintains professionalism in challenging situations, and is capable of handling sensitive information with discretion. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential, along with excellent computer proficiency. An undergraduate degree, and experience with BambooHR or any Human Resources Information System (HRIS) is a plus.

Bilingual proficiency in professional written and verbal English and Spanish communication is required.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the company Human Resources Information System, BambooHR.
  • Support the hiring process, including coordinating Job Fairs.
  • Conduct Onboarding new hires, including coordinating physical and drug tests, new hire paperwork, and orientation.
  • Co-ordinating Offboarding employees.
  • Help support and manage the company's benefits program, health, dental, employee assistant program, life and 401k. Contact and enroll eligible employees. Answer questions and support the annual open enrollment process.
  • Support company's reward programs, Team of the Year, Tenure rewards and trip associated. As well as Safety Rewards.
  • Update and maintain office and human resources procedures.
  • Regularly help create employee documentation, letters, fliers, and forms in English and Spanish. Advance word, excel and publisher software is a plus.
  • Back up support for Front Office Administrative Assistant when needed.
  • Maintain safety meeting trainings records, safety and other certification, employee records in general.
  • Act as the point of contact for employees, especially those needing Spanish interpretation, and support.
  • Help plan and organize company events.
  • Support the Foreman Safety Meetings, potentially Superintendent Meetings, and other meetings as required with set up and attendance.
  • Assist with other special projects when needed: For example, co-ordination with a third-party consultant on a new safety portal, or researching marketing and/or safety or reward material.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in Human Resources
  • Knowledge of Employment Law
  • An understanding of how to be personable and approachable yet professional, and can keep confidential information confidential
  • Ability to stay professional at all times.
  • Knowledge of office management systems and procedures
  • Proficiency in MS Office (MS. Word, Excel, Publisher and MS PowerPoint, in particular)
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
  • Ability to make good judgement
