What it takes:

This is not an entry level role. The Regional Infield Supervisor must lead by example and bring a leadership mindset grounded in trust, commitment, and a drive for continuous personal improvement. These are not just values at BSG they are expectations.

Supervisors are entrusted with overseeing the quality, performance, and professionalism of BSG's field operations. You'll be responsible for guiding multiple teams across a variety of client sites, ensuring every officer under your supervision upholds the standards our clients expect and deserve.

This role requires emotional maturity, strong judgment, and the ability to adapt quickly in the field. You'll be expected to communicate clearly with clients, maintain operational oversight, support your teams in real time, and lead from the front—especially in urgent or high-pressure situations.

Infield Supervisors also serve as vital links between our field teams and executive leadership. You'll be expected to train and mentor new and existing officers, reinforce site protocols, deliver consistent reporting, and contribute to the strategic improvement of our operations. Your ability to lead with integrity and develop those around you will directly shape the reputation and performance of BSG in the communities we serve.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop a deep understanding of each assigned site to serve as a subject matter expert on the client's security needs and expectations.
  • Coordinate daily with the COO and Operations Team to ensure alignment on objectives, priorities, and policy updates.
  • Ability to visit and support assigned locations across all shifts including morning, swing, and graveyard to ensure consistent oversight and operational continuity.
  • Train security officers in a wide range of topics through both hands-on instruction and classroom-style lectures, delivered at the home office, client sites, or in the field as needed.
  • Maintain direct communication with clients, client staff, and the public with professionalism and tact.
  • Train, reinforce, and uphold client-specific security protocols, while responding to emergencies and unexpected situations as they arise.
  • Review and update site policies and procedures to reflect current security trends and industry best practices.
  • Conduct thorough patrols of designated areas, including multi-level buildings and outdoor spaces, while standing or walking for extended periods.
  • Frequently climb stairs and navigate challenging environments to ensure full site coverage.
  • Remain alert and focused throughout extended shifts, maintaining a high standard of vigilance and readiness.
  • De-escalate tense or potentially volatile situations using professionalism, patience, and confident communication.
  • Document patrols, incidents, and observations with accuracy and detail to support accountability and post-shift review.
  • Prepare clear, comprehensive incident reports that meet company and client documentation standards.
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills in all interactions, fostering respectful, composed, and effective communication with the public, clients, and team members.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and consistently meet grooming and uniform standards to project a polished and authoritative presence.

Desirable Skills and Qualifications:

While not required, the ideal candidate will bring added value through advanced certifications, instructional experience, or formal education that supports training and leadership development. Preference will be given to candidates with one or more of the following:

  • Instructor-level certification in ASP Baton.
  • Instructor-level certification in handcuffing techniques.
  • Instructor-level certification in defensive tactics and control holds, such as Gracie Survival Tactics (GST), Monadnock, Avade, etc.
  • Instructor-level certification in OC (pepper spray) deployment.
  • Instructor-level certification in Taser.
  • Certified instructor in CPR, First Aid, and AED through the American Red Cross or equivalent.
  • Experience delivering de-escalation and crisis intervention training through, CPI, POST, CIT, or equivalent.
  • Leadership or management experience within a corporate, security, military, or law enforcement setting.
  • Demonstrated experience training or mentoring new security officers.
  • BSIS Exposed Firearms Permit or higher-level firearms certification.
  • Completion of a two-year certificate or four-year degree in criminal justice, public safety, management or a related field.

Additional Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Possess a current California Guard Card License.
  • A valid Driver's License and a clean driving record.
  • Reliable transportation is necessary.
  • Proficient in basic computer and smartphone usage.
  • Must be able to speak, read, and write in English to create accurate reports; additional language skills are a plus.
  • Strong listening skills, patience, and compassion, particularly when interacting with community members experiencing emotional or psychological challenges.
  • Ensure compliance with both company and client policies and procedures while being open to performance improvement.
  • Possess a clear understanding of emergency response procedures and protocols.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Successfully pass a background check and drug screening.
  • Performs other related duties, as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

This role requires specific physical abilities to ensure the Security Guard can effectively perform essential job duties. The candidate must be able to:

  • Stand or Walk for Extended Periods: Ability to stand and walk for long shifts, often for several hours at a time, including traversing outdoor areas with uneven surfaces, without significant physical strain.
  • Climb Stairs: Regularly climb stairs and navigate multi-level buildings to perform patrols and check all areas.
  • Lift and Carry: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds to move or secure equipment, and assist with other duties as necessary.
  • Physical Endurance: Ability to withstand various weather conditions during outdoor patrols, including hot, cold, rainy, or windy weather.
  • Manual Dexterity: Ability to handle and operate security equipment, such as radios, keys, and locks.
  • Run or Move Quickly: Ability to sprint short distances if needed to respond quickly to emergencies or incidents.
  • Physical Stamina: Capable of working long hours while remaining alert and focused throughout the shift. De-escalate stressful situations with professionalism and patience.
  • Kneeling and Bending: Ability to kneel, crouch, and bend to check low-level areas, secure entrances, or assist in emergencies.
  • Vision and Hearing: Strong vision and hearing to observe surroundings, monitor security systems, and detect alarms or sounds of distress.

Additional Roles and Responsibilities:

Incident Response:

  • Respond swiftly to emergencies or incidents, including sprinting short distances if necessary.
  • Use manual dexterity to operate security equipment such as radios, keys, and locks efficiently.

Equipment Handling:

  • Lift and carry equipment or materials weighing up to 50 pounds to assist with security tasks or emergencies.
  • Secure heavy items or assist with moving necessary supplies as part of the role.

Situational Awareness:

  • Utilize strong vision and hearing abilities to monitor surroundings, identify potential security threats, and detect alarms or sounds of distress.
