General Summary

Developer is an independent member of the Core Analytics who helps improve the data driven culture within the Henry Ford health System. The candidate must be able to work collaboratively, to gather data, generate reports, and provide actionable interpretation of information to all the customers. The candidate must be comfortable with presenting information to customers at all levels, including but not limited to executives, physicians, clinical staff, peers, and external oversight/regulatory bodies. Assist in developing comprehensive data assets, ad-hoc reports and implement new or improved automated reporting processes to support goals for business initiatives. The candidate must fulfill challenging requests, manages deadlines, and work with their manager or senior team members to maintain timeliness and quality of the products. The candidate must consistently demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills while maintaining keen attention to detail and high quality.

Principle Duties And Responsibilities

  • Tells a story with data insights that are clear and discerning to help leaders make actionable decisions.
  • Take ownership of tasks, data assets, tools, and project goals to work towards overall success of the business initiatives.
  • Works collaboratively with leaders and teams to understand how data solutions can make a positive impact.
  • Consults, designs metrics, reports, and builds solutions as needed.
  • Documents the process flows and ensures they are monitored for accuracy and quality.
  • Provides end-user training on existing tools.
  • Routinely participates in webinars and other educational resources to enhance understanding of current developments in healthcare environment.
  • Generates suggestions for improving work efficiency and promoting quality, demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Guide customers to the central intake process, triage and fulfill report requests as assigned by the leader.
  • Serves as a liaison between Analytics and business leaders.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience Required

  • Bachelor's Degree with a Healthcare, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics/Statistics, Business, OR an Applied Science major.
  • One to two (1-2) years of experience in a Healthcare OR Business setting.
  • Experience in SQL, advance Excel, report building, tool development, requirements gathering and technical documentation.
  • Knowledge of Relational Databases, Data Visualizations, is required OR Knowledge of Electronic Medical Record System (EMR) report development, EMR functionality, any EMR (Epic, Cerner, McKesson or other widely used EMRs).
  • Knowledge of fundamental Computer Programming concepts, basic database concepts and Source Code Management (Git).
  • Knowledge of a Business Intelligence tools like Tableau, Cognos, Looker, Toad, Minitab, Power BI, Qlik, SSRS OR any other.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Certifications/Licensures Required

  • Must meet or exceed core customer service responsibilities, standards and behaviors as outlined in the Henry Ford Health Customer Service Policy
  • Must practice the customer skills as provided through on-going training and in-services.

Physical Demands/Working Conditions

Normal office environment with minimal exposure to noise, dust, or extreme temperatures.
