About The Role

Due to an upcoming retirement, ITASCA International Inc. is seeking our third Chief Financial Officer in our company’s 45-year history to lead the financial strategy and management for the organization. The next CFO will help shape the future of ITASCA with a mindset of steady, moderate growth. We are targeting a start date of January 2026 to ensure some overlap with our current CFO.

About You

The candidate that will thrive in the role of CFO for ITASCA will have a global mindset and strong communication skills. They will have prior experience in mid-sized, privately held businesses and will have led other non-finance functions (e.g., human resources, legal). Role Responsibilities

Financial Management

  • Holds responsibility for the overall financial well-being of ITASCA with regards to debt management, profitability, asset management, and cashflow while ensuring the financial strategy aligns with the company strategy and vision.
  • Provides financial projections, expense budgets, and financial results for ITASCA offices on an annual basis and provides the Chief Executive Officer with quarterly reports for Board communication.
  • Conducts research and analysis to provide recommendations to CEO for Officer and General Manager (GM) compensation and bonuses.
  • Oversees the production and reporting of all financial reports, consolidated financial statements, and tax returns.
  • Sets and oversees financial reporting standards for all offices in compliance with year-end U.S. GAAP Review reporting requirements.
  • Liaises with external financial and tax reporting resources to ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Oversees the employee stock purchase program, shareholder dividends, profit distributions, insurance procurement, and Early Stock Redemption Program, working closely with the CEO and ITASCA's Board of Directors on stock valuation and the repurchase and distribution of company stock.

Global Operations of ITASCA

  • Provides financial guidance to the CEO on ITASCA’s global business strategy, office establishment, and development of new service areas.
  • Along with the CEO and the Board Chairperson, develops the agenda and content for the biannual in-person Board meetings, attends all Board meetings, and coordinates the bi-annual selection process of new Board members.
  • Provides guidance on consulting and software rates, salary levels, office and project performance, and audits.
  • Leads, coordinates, and/or participates in a variety of meetings, including in-person office visits, General Manager meetings, shareholder meetings, and Town Hall meetings.
  • Liaises and serves as the point of contact for legal matters related to employment and business operations. Must be familiar with and stay current on changing laws and regulations in all jurisdictions in which ITASCA operates.
  • Participates in local Board meetings for each ITASCA office along with the CEO of ITASCA and the corresponding GM.

Leadership

  • Keeps current with conditions that may affect the financial health of the organization and is proactive in recommending solutions that align with ITASCA’s strategy.
  • Assists with the planning, strategy, and execution of a cooperative culture within the various offices.
  • Works closely with the office GMs to assist with management, mentoring, and development of finance and accounting staff.
  • Leads and participates in cross-functional projects in other business units as assigned by the CEO.
  • Positions the company for future success and competitiveness through a forward-thinking mindset.

Qualifications

  • At least 15 years of relevant work experience demonstrating increased responsibilities, with at least 7 years of leadership experience.
  • Undergraduate degree in a related field, Master’s degree (MBA) preferred. Highly relevant work experience will be considered in lieu of advanced degree.
  • Prior leadership experience in a private, mid-sized (approximately $50–$100M), international company required; experience with employee-owned company highly desirable.
  • Prior experience managing leadership or ownership changes within an organization or M&A activities is desirable.
  • Strong technical background in consulting or software industry is preferred.

Location – Must be within commuting distance of ITASCA’s Minneapolis office, with the majority of work performed on site. Relocation assistance is available.

Travel – Up to 10% internationally on a predictable schedule.

Salary – The anticipated starting base salary for this role is between $180k – $220k.
