Position works as a Parts Clerk in the Cumberland County Equipment Shop. This position performs the purchasing, receiving, storing, and issuing of equipment repair parts. Performs number research ordering parts from parts and electronic manuals and entering the data of goods issued and good received in the SAP system for further processing. Scan invoices and documents. Receive invoices and emergency purchase orders and review for accuracy of pricing /quantities received. Must possess physical strength to lift and move heavy objects, such as batteries for heavy equipment, grader blades and large tires. Preference given to applicants with experience in auto parts. Safety toe footwear is required within 30 days of employment. A valid North Carolina Driver's License is required.
Ability to operate a forklift to load and unload parts. Knowledge of the material and parts used in the repair and maintenance of light to heavy construction equipment. Ability to operate scanner, fax machine, copier, adding machine and computer using SAP system. Knowledge and ability to use correct grammar, vocabulary, spelling, proofreading and office terminology. Must be detail oriented and self- motivated. Ability to work independently, maintain and organize records, function, and complete all aspects of assigned duties with minimal supervision. Maintain effective working relationships with other employees. Emergency callback is required. Employee will be required to work in adverse weather conditions.

- Demonstrated ability to correctly identify automotive and construction equipment parts through use of catalogs or physical inspection.
- Experience with Microsoft Office using programs such as Access, Word, and Excel.
- Experience with physical inventory maintenance procedures (i.e. daily, and annual spot checks/counting).
- Experience with data entry including invoicing and purchasing requisitions.
