
Global Support and Development is seeking to hire a Logistics Inventory Manager within our Logistics Team. The position is full-time and located at HQ in Charlotte, N.C.
As the heartbeat of GSD's operational readiness, the Logistics Inventory Manager leads the charge in ensuring our warehousing operations are agile, precise, and ready to support rapid disaster response. From overseeing inventory across multiple hubs to maximizing storage aboard our state-of-the-art Humanitarian Vessel, this role ensures critical supplies and equipment are always accounted for and deployment-ready. With a sharp focus on accuracy and responsiveness, the Inventory Manager keeps GSD’s mission in constant motion– delivering vital resources exactly where and when they’re needed most.
Reporting directly to the Director of Logistics, the Inventory Manager works closely with the Supply, Maritime Logistics, and Transportation Managers to synchronize efforts across all logistics functions. This collaborative leadership ensures that inventory operations are not only efficient, but also strategically aligned with broader organizational goals. By integrating planning, coordination, and execution, the Inventory Manager plays a pivotal role in strengthening GSD’s operational readiness and delivering measurable impact in the field.

- Develop, implement, and execute plans, processes, and projects in support of departmental strategy, maximizing efficient use of resources and ensuring shared vision;
- Manage and facilitate access to resources for response and operational needs in accordance with organizational protocols, ensuring efficient, compliant, and accountable usage;
- Manage and coach all warehousing and inventory responsible stakeholders;
- Support critical decision-making processes, to include identifying issues and driving problem-solving, especially in resource-constrained and time-sensitive contexts;
- Maintain contracts and good working relationships with Third Party Logistics (3PL) service providers, supply partners, and landlords to ensure that GSD has alternate warehousing and sourcing options for material required within our Areas of Response (AOR);
- Establish robust systems and processes for precise inventory tracking and valuation, providing accurate reporting for operational and financial purposes;
- Optimize warehouse layouts and storage solutions to maximize space utilization;
- Coordinate inventory management across regions, and MV DAWN, to ensure balanced stock levels;
- Manage warehouses and inventory in the United States, Caribbean, and Central American locations to ensure consistent standards and practices;
- Improve and maintain GSD inventory management as well as maintain assets and goods in possession;
- Impact the department’s operational efficiency and readiness, ensuring timely and effective response capabilities;
- Assist the Transport Team in building, staging, and loading shipments to ensure timely dispatch and field readiness;
- Support budgetary planning, control and analysis for the Logistics Team;
- Prompt and action GSD’s core values of accountability, humility and integrity in all work we conduct;
- Promote good stewardship of financial and other resources to achieve maximum benefit to those impacted by disaster or at risk of impact; and
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Experience:
- Five (5) or more years of relevant management experience in logistics, preferably in the humanitarian sector; and
- Three (3) or more years experience operating in Inventory Management, preferably in an international context.
Education
- Bachelor's degree, preferably with a focus in business, supply chain, or a related field preferred; or
- Equivalent combination of experience and training.
Professional Licenses/Certifications
- Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) or related Supply Chain certification is desired;
- Forklift certification is required; and
- Certification in project management is desired.
Knowledge/Skills
- Proven ability to lead and motivate teams to produce quality results within challenging timeframes and ongoing change;
- Program oversight and management, development of programmatic policy, procedure, and guidelines;
- Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously under pressure;
- Confident and effective written and verbal communication, to include presentation ability;
- Cultural awareness and the ability to work collaboratively with a wide array of stakeholders to build relationships;
- Knowledge of safety regulations and OSHA procedures;
- Ability and motivation to learn industry specific skills;
- Successful implementation of business management principles, organization structure, workflow, and operating procedures;
- Knowledge of inventory accounting principles to ensure accurate financial reporting of stock levels, valuation, and cost allocation;
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds repeatedly;
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to rapidly shift tasks;
- Experience working and/or traveling domestically and internationally; and
- Working knowledge of Spanish and/or French desired.
